Birthday present from my wife. I’ve used it ALOT and I feel like I’ve learned it’s strengths and weaknesses. First off put a high quality blade on, second don’t even waste your time with a 1.5 ah battery… Go at least 2.5, 4.0 if you can. Once you got that taken care of this little guy is great. I recently built a little feed barn on our farm and did all 8 ft wooden siding cuts and 2×4 cuts with this saw and it did just fine. If you encounter a knot on a harder wood type you will need to slow down. But all in all it beats hauling extension cords for my bigger circ saws. After decently heavy use for 8 months I’ve come to really appreciate this small circular saw

Keep it in perspective! I bought this saw for some light duty work around our property where it is not practical to string extension cords

The saw is small and should be easy to handle but the blade is on the left side which puts the weight on the right side and the cut off portion on the left. I question its safety for a right handed operator, as are most people. Black and Decker should have indicated this on the package and in their advertisements for potential buyers as i had no idea until I got it home and tried it.

I’ve had a string of cordless power saws and have not been impressed. However, this is a very nice unit. The 20 volt battery gives plenty of power (both duration and torque) to handle nearly any household woodcutting chore. I used it on 3/4″ plywood sheets without a problem.

I don’t know how I got along without one of these for so many years. For quick cuts on smaller jobs this saw is so much easier that getting out the big circular saw. It cuts well and I have not been able to run the battery out of power so far.

PROS: (1) Affordable, (2) Free shipping, (3) Lightweight, (4) Easy to useCONS: (1) Blade difficult to install; instructions for installing blade not clear, (2) Does NOT include battery or charger, (3) Saw can use wood cutting blades only; cannot use blades to cut masonry, metal, Plexiglas, etc., only wood cutting blades, (4) Saw was not factory set to a 90 degree cut; had to manually set it myself.

Needed a small, cordless saw for an overhead, up a ladder project and this one has filled the bill. The guide slot could be a little easier to see, but overall this has worked for me. I already had other Black and Decker cordless products so I was able to use the chargers and batteries I already owned. Otherwise a purchaser needs to also buy those for this saw to work.

All good

Quick delivery and the quality with the saw is better than I expected. I suggest to change the blade with a better quality. Blade is Good for construction cuts but not for fine cuts. It’s easy to manage and light weight even with battery

It’s okay, I have used better tools.

This is a very nice saw, although I was expecting to get a battery with it. It matches the other cordless tools in my shop which is a great benefit.

I’ve had this for a couple of years. Its okay for rough cuts on the go but the shoe came crooked and it took me a while to notice that, so I would try to use a guide to get a nice straight cut and the blade would bind up badly because it was not straight with the shoe. This went on long enough that it seems to have taken out whatever bearing or bushing the blade rides on, so my blade no longer runs true it has a little wobble to it. Thats a bummer because for a home-owner I’ve use it a lot but for a saw in general it has been used very little. I don’t like getting a saw with a crooked shoe and I don’t like blade wobble. It still runs and cuts stuff but I don’t use it to cut anything I care too much about. You MUST use at least a 3 AH battery with this tool, the baby 1.5 AH batteries are not up to snuff. They may work somewhat when brand new but once the battery pack has aged slightly you will find even a fully charged 1.5 AH pack will cut out on you cutting hardwoods. I’m going to try to take it apart and see if I can fix the bearing and line up the shoe. If not, at least its just a cheapie unit that is easy to replace but I will not buy this same saw again.

Works well and did the job for me. A fence would be a nice addition.

Powerful and easy to handle, I used it to cut wood for shelving, it may precision cuts and felt sturdy and capable.
