I had its predecessor (Grasshog) for about 20 years, but this is much more powerful and a superior design in every way. The handle and the rotating edger are both much more easy to adjust. Very good tool and a great deal for the money. No complaints.

this was a replacement for the same trimmer. Not sure why but even though it trimmer and edges very well, it uses a lot of string. Several times the string would advance then cut off8 to 12 inches of new string? Trying to figure out if it this way I am holding the unit or is there something wrong?

Stymied by gas equipment that doesn’t start or won’t feed, I turned to this electric trimmer, which I had already owned but thought of as light duty. I added 50 feet to my power cord and find that this machine will cut anything a gas string trimmer will, including down to bare earth. And it does it with no hassles. It is a single string machine but it really delivers.

Gets the job done but removing the bottom spool cap is a pain cuz the buttons to squeeze in are real small. Kind of fussing winding the line on the spool without tangles. Used for about 3 hours and it went through the full spool of line and had to re-spool several times but just partially since the line jams easily. I had the 2 line feed version for several years so can’t complain.

The Black and Decker 6.5 Amp Corded Electric Weed Eater worked very well. It was very easy to handle. I was able to set the right height to my comfort level and was able to convert from edger to whacker very easily. My only complaint was that it used a lot of cord being that it was automatically fed.

I have had this trimmer for about a month and have used it several times. I chose this trimmer because it does not require me to mix fuel, not does it suffer from the fuel-line problems that plague 2-cycles. It cuts like crazy! — even some tough brambles that have taken root in my yard. Plenty of power to get the job done!I do have three issues with it — minor but annoying:1). I could stand for the shaft to telescope a little farther — like about 6″. I find myself hunched over uncomfortably while using it.2). The lock on the front (lower) handle skips a tooth intermittently. I am cutting away and suddenly the handle hops up a tooth. It is more annoying than anything else but it should not do that.3). The air intake for the motor often draws leaves toward it, blocking off air flow. I must stop and clear them away. Again, annoying.
