I bought this product 4 years ago, and used it regularly (as did my neighbor). Today the casing finally fell apart and it was time to throw it out. For $ 49, it was an exceptional product. The cartridges for the draw string were easy to replace and I’m pleased at how long lasting and durable the product has been. I would always recommend protective eye wear with this product.

Product works very well and is well priced. Adapts well to both horizontal and vertical trimming. The “guide-wheel” is not very useful. Works better when I removed this to edge my lawn. Overall a good solid value. My last trimmer lasted me nearly 14 years.

The plug for the cord will not take a 3 prong plug which all outdoor cords have. String has to be perfectly wound or it will break. But it is light weight and does a great of job

I can only rate this a 3 due to the fact when I fill the spool with plastic cording, it breaks off and uses all the spool when I hit a rock or big branches etc.

I bought this trimmer to replace a two string unit that frequently jammed when feeding line. The B&D trimmer is more powerful and has a larger cutting swath. My favorite feature is the edging guide wheel. I get precise, even edges more easily than with my old trimmer/edger.

Thing works great if you have an infinite amount of line available. Automatically feeds when it shouldn’t. Runs out of line way too fast.

The battery powered trimmer I had been using for years wasn’t doing the job anymore. Due to the batteries ages, it could only go 5 minutes before changing them.. This looks to be a marvelous replacement. One feature I wasn’t sure about was the wheel but that has turned out to be a favorite feature. I am hoping over time that it will continue do do well. The only problem was the small amount of assembly was a little awkward but it’s a one time task. The handle, while adjustable is a little shorter than I would like but it’s not that bad.

I bought this product in mid September 2019. Have used it about 4 times on a total of 16 grass edgings. Spool has already run out of trimmer line and had to be replaced with a new spool. Not impressed!!! . My previous trimmer was a Black & Decker “Grass Hog” with a double string spool. Always lasted a long time before requiring a spool refill. Was an excellent piece of yard/garden equipment. I really miss not being able to replace it with a new model that works just as efficiently.

My auto advance edger advances my lawn to pristine condition. The old “tap advance” models are very difficult to operate and really slows up using the edger. Thanks Black and Decker for making edging a breeze!

I’m on my second one! No, I didn’t expect it to last forever and I’m not disappointed at all. This trimmer produced more work for me than the average trimmer ever sees, due to my unusual application. When the first one quit, I took it apart to see why, it was worn out. I wore it out, period. I went to buy another one just like it and couldn’t find one so I bought the next model with the top motor and curved shaft. Soooo disappointed with that one that I immediately kept looking and found the one that I’m talking about here, the straight shaft, corded, 14”, telescopic handle, with guide wheel and flip it 180 degrees for trimmer function. Please don’t ever stop making this one. I even thought of buying two more now, so I can have spares as I I wear them out.
