It’s easy to program, it’s still working, and the coffee tastes good. It does drip if you take the pot out before it’s completely brewed. When you pick up the canister, you can burn your finger if it goes off the handle on the top part of it. And, the last negative is the design of the basket. It has a handle that is more in the way than helpful as the filter tangles around it as you drop it into the wastebasket.Other than that I would get another one.

The water is dispensed by a wand with many spray holes so the grounds get a good soaking. I would manually soak grounds with our old drip machine, but sometimes I’d get distracted and the basket would overflow before I put the carafe in place. I picked this unit because the mechanics are above the carafe. If I overflow the basket with this system, the flood shouldn’t kill the clock, etc. again. But, actually, I don’t need to babysit this coffee maker because it does a really good job of soaking all the grounds evenly. The lid above the filter clicks tight which might benefit the thorough soaking/steaming of the grounds. We’re still fans of drip over the individual cups dispensers or an espresso machine. I use the STRONG setting which gives a good rich flavor without bitterness.

We have only used the machine for a month, but it is performing well so far.We noticed a bit of an odd “new plastic” sort of taste in the first 2-3 brews, but the coffee tastes great now, and timer works to have coffee ready when we get up.
