This black and Decker is a great coffee maker! It’s a 12 cup maker so it is sure to keep you and guests caffeinated. If you are brewing a whole batch but need your coffee now when you take the carafe out the brewing will stop until you put it back. Speaking of the carafe, it keeps your coffee nice and hot for hours! Even the water dispensing system has multiple spouts so it will evenly brew your coffee. And major plus, it’s easy to clean!

TIP- B&D recommends heating the thermal carafe with hot water just before brewing to keep the coffee hot longer. But this is a great coffee maker for those who want a compact unit with a 12 cup thermal carafe. Makes a nice cup of coffee especially when put it on the bold setting. I did a temperature check after two hours – it held at 149 degrees – fine for us. The brewing cycle is quite long. If you are impatient or can’t plan ahead using the programmable feature, buy something else. The carafe is well balanced, easy to pour from, easy to clean and not too heavy.Be sure to thoroughly wash the manufacturing oils off the brew basket and the reservoir. Then run a few brew cycles with just water before your first true brew. There is an initial plastic odor. But it doesn’t last, especially if you do the above.Highly recommended – especially for the price. “Black and Decker” doesn’t have the branding cachet of Cuisinart, but this model performs. I have had several of the “brands” at twice the price – only to have the control panel fail.I am very impressed with this machine!

I purchased this coffee maker with the convenience and reputation behind it in mind. Loved it the minute I took it out of the box! Had had it about 8 months and one day it only brewed 4 cups. Restarted and it brewed another bit. It now has to be restarted multiple times to brew a full pot. Really hate this and I would have given 5 stars otherwise.
