I bought my coffee maker 3 years ago. I use it every day at least 4 times a day. It is reliable and consistent. I use regular coffee grounds so it is economical and I get fresh brewed coffee instead of coffee that has been sitting. I would never pay for those little pod things. I am going to buy another B&D just as backup.

I purchased this from Kohl’s. Straight from the box, it brewed perfectly fine. Is a little messy and kind of a pain to clean up, but I don’t mind. I do, however, mind that the cup comes with NO SEAL for the lid! There is literally nothing to stop it from leaking right out and all down your front! I can put my mouth up to the side and blow air into the cup between the cup and lid. Really disappointed. I generally like Black & Decker products. I can use the cup…without a lid…which sort of defeats the purpose.

This coffee maker is quick, much quieter than our previous one and the automatic shut off is a great feature. I would definitely recommend this product for those who would like a small single cup coffee maker that uses up to 16 ounces of water per serving.

I bought this a few years ago to replace a much older B&D model (a “water fill to the top” with coffee basket under the tank, where the basket was worn out). This model ran flawlessly up to a few months ago. Now I have to re-start it once or twice to complete my coffee. The cup it comes with gets cold too fast so I bought a Thermos(RT) model H1005 that exactly fits the coffee maker. From what I can see, there must be a build up of “stuff” from hard water that is causing the need to restart lately. I am not sure what can be used to clean that out. I tried 10:1 water and vinegar and 10:1 bleach. Nojoy.

This is the second of these I’ve had. I bought the first in 2017 and subjected it to making at least two cups of coffee a day since then. The switch finally failed, so I ordered another. I must admit that the switch seems flimsy, and, for that reason, I would remove ½ star if possible. I expect it’ll be the first thing to fail on this one too, but, the first one did survive 4 years.I looked at several other single-serve coffee makers as replacements, but there are several things I really like about this one, a) the cup is comfortable to hold, doesn’t leak, and fits my cup holder, b) the cup’s capacity is larger than most other makers’ and c) the price was right. This coffee maker doesn’t take k-cups, so if that’s important to you, this is not the one for you. For me, that was a plus since I much prefer to use the permanent filter and my own coffee rather than expensive k-cups. While this coffee maker doesn’t have extra bells & whistles, such as, internal bean grinder, programmable capability, etc, it does do exactly what I need it to: quickly brew a nice, single cup of hot coffee.

I bought this for making coffee but also use it with loose tea leaves in the same filter basket as the ground coffee. It works great for both as long as you use enough tea leaves or coffee grounds. I put my Sweet & Low in the mug before I brew either, and then after brewing I add milk to the coffee. I use a measuring cup to put 16 OZ of water in the maker’s water chamber so that I have space for that milk, rather than fill to the line. Then press the button and go away until I hear the click when it shuts off, and then wait another minute for the brew to finish draining into the mug. Works every time…

I have bought 2 of these in the past year. In both cases they started to malfunction after 4-5 months. The power refuses to stay on long enough to finish brewing a cup. For the few months they do work they work great but having to buy a new one every few months isn’t worth it

Hadthe product for about seven months and it worked well until lately. The water does not empty completely and I have to restart a couple of times to get a complete cup. Thought it was a case of it’s dirty, but seems to be a product defect. Not a heavy coffee drinker, so I don’t know why its not working so early.

I just bought the CM618 today, trying to stop using k-cups. I put loose coffee into the filter and brew it into my own ceramic mug and TONS of grounds come through the filter into the coffee? Can this machine be used ONLY with the travel mug that came with it? Or with a special kind of coffee? Help!

Bought two, one for each of my sons. Simple to use, good, hot coffee. But one cup leaked badly around the lid because the lid is missing the soft plastic gasket that seals it to the cup. No replacement available, apparently. However, I didn’t like the way you have to mix additives like cream and sugar BEFORE the brewing, with the lid already on, so it’s no problem to just use another travel cup that fits the maker, then pop the lid on after.
