This coffee pot is perfect for one person. It’s fast, makes good coffee, keeps it hot in the insulated mug. What more could you ask for? It will work with regular coffee or the pods, if you feel like messing with them. If you live in a hard water area I would recommend using distilled water to help eliminate mineral buildup. Also I found that the supplied filter allowed fine coffee grounds to seep through to the coffee so I stopped using it and bought #2 Cone shape paper filters. I trim a bit of the tops off so they fit better. No more grounds in the coffee! I am so in love with this pot I bought two…one for everyday use and one for a backup (nothing lasts forever!)

Love my B&D single serve coffee maker; have been using for almost 20 years. I get about 5 years of daily use from one unit. I use a white vinegar brew every four to six months to remove hard water buildup followed by a clean water run. Prefer to use the small “2-4” cup paper filter rather than included filter (works great) just toss away. About 10 years ago had a unit with switch failure in the first month and B&D replaced the unit; just contact them. Remember to wash mug and lid regularly. If water gets trapped in mug during dishwasher use, turn mug with handle facing downward and shake water out of little drain hole.

And we didn’t want a POT of coffee that would get cold. When I read that comparison-testing of various single-cup coffeemakers rated this the hottest brew, I got it. We have been 100% happy with the speed and temperature of the coffee AND it’s easy to get the proper proportion of coffee to water to get consistent flavor. All is for less than $20! Black and Decker clearly knows how to make way more than tools (we also have a Black & Decker toaster oven which we love)!
