Cheap does not always mean bad. This sander is awesome. Because the frontal circumference is much smaller it gets in places that other sanders cannot. I also used it for sculpting wood in different shapes or when a 45 degree cut needed that little extra nudging to make it work.

Did not embrace the thought for the need to buy another belt sander to strip an existing finish from PT decking located underneath a bottom deck rail. Unfortunately, my exist Skill sander was to bulky to reach the intended area. I found but a few sanders on the market with a low enough profile to reach underneath a deck rail. The Dragster accomplished the intended task for stripping this area rather than resorting to the onerous process of chemical stripping and bruising your knuckles while hand sanding. You do need to keep watch on the belt tracking as other reviewers have mentioned but doing so is quite simple. Keeping the hood up on the front end allows easy visual for ensuring the belt is tracking properly. As I have found with most sanders, the dust collection bag is useless.

The three things I like best about the Black & Decker Belt sander is the ease at which the belt can be changed, the simple and effective way to adjust belt tracking, and the retractable hood. With the hood retracted, you can see the edge of the sander making it a lot easier when close work sanding is a must. I would recommend this belt sander for the home enthusiast. It is light and at 7 amps, provides a decent amount of power. It is well balanced and with the adjustable handle feels comfortable when sanding.
