The BLACK & DECKER GH900 is ideal for trimming grass in hard to reach areas where mowers cannot cut and maintenance edging along hard surfaces. AFS automatic feed system ensures continual work without bumping or having to stop to feed the spool. This trimmer features 2-in-1 easy conversion wheeled edging- just rotate to convert from trimmer to edger.

The chain constantly comes off. Just plan to stop the work every 10 minutes to take the housing off and re tighten the chain

I chose this based mainly on the low weight. I bought on that was 2x the weight – a different brand – and just got sick of how hard it was for me, as an older petite woman, to handle. Not only is this much lighter, it’s even more powerful than the heavier one. I got the edging/trimming done in 1/2 the time! Definitely recommend this trimmer.

I wanted to add some pics of the worn thru cap. These caps are only lasting me 2-3 hours. At $4.97 each this is not cheap!B&D you need to improve these caps with thicker plastic or metal bottomOtherwise a nice weed whip

Upgraded to this weed eater from a cordless Black & Decker that was old and barely held a charge. This corded one has a TON of power. I didn’t know what I was missing. It’s incredible how quickly I can trim my small yard, and I can cut it much shorter now which extends how long I can wait between trims. The edger feature it nice, but I think it works well going in only one direction/angle. My only complaint, however, is that this thing eats string like crazy. I bought a 3pk of replacement string and it used 2.5 spools for my small back yard (approx. 10′ x 12′). There may be a setting or something I’m missing…I confess only looked at the pictures in the manual to put it together. Overall, I like it and I’m pleased with this purchase.
