After 3 years my HT22 trimmer died. It started smoking at the plug on the unit and also melted my 100′ extension cord female end. I use it a lot [probably more than most people] and was doing some heavy duty trimming today when it quit. I will probably buy another one just like it, because I liked it and it handled well. If I had just a few bushes/shrubs it would most likely have lasted many years.

I really do miss the continously ‘on’ feature of the older model…that is not having to continously hold the trigger. I know it’s probably a safety issue which is why they did away with it. I thought that it wouldn’t matter to me, but I have have several large cutting projects and my hand tires and cramps after a while . But it is a good cutter and would recommend the product. ..just miss the continous feature.
