This is my first Black & Decker iron. I was tired of some of the less expensive brands as they were average at best. I usually buy a Rowena but this one gives Rowena run for the money. It gets very hot on the highest setting, ironing jeans in no time. The chamber looks opaque but is actually transparent so you can see exactly how much water you are putting in. The stainless steal plate glides over my clothes better than any other iron I’ve used. Gave it 4 stars instead of 5 just because the retractable cord did not fully retract. I can live with that for such a great iron. I’ll purchase Black & Decker irons from now on.

I received this product free for my unbiased review. It is an good iron that I would recommend to anyone. It works better than my old one. I have no complaints so far. I have used the steam and the spray function and everything works well. The cord storage really make my room neat. It is pretty and functional! The only big issue i had was it leaked and spit water all over. It only happened once so i hope it was just a one time thing. I really liked the cord retract as well.

Black and Decker has been a trusted brand in our home for many years. I have been incredibly pleased with the Black and Decker XPRESS Traditional Reel Iron. I don’t iron a lot, but when I do, I expect great results.Let’s start from the beginning! I am a busy mom that likes everyone to look their best. I dislike spending money at the Dry Cleaners when we don’t have to. I want ironing to be as painless as humanly possible. I don’t want my clothes to burn. I don’t want them to be left looking wrinkled. I want sharp, crisp clothing!Highlights:1.The Black and Decker XPRESS is sleek looking and very comfortable to hold. I found the XPRESS incredibly easy to operate. The simple guide printed on the iron’s water tank shows you what number to dial depending on the fabric.2. Smart Technology includes Automatic Shutoff within 30 seconds of activity. Let’s face it, it is easy to get sidetracked and this is a great safety measure to have in place. It starts right back up automatically when you pick it up. It did not disrupt heating/cooling at all.3. Smart Steam – The XPRESS iron by Black and uses Smart Steam Technology by knowing just how much steam you will need for the fabric you are ironing. Of course, this is always a way to override it and get that surge of steam to remove wrinkles.Now let’s talk about the reality of ironing! For my first project, I decided to try my son’s 100% cotton button down school uniform. It is never easy when they are left in the dryer overnight. The iron was incredibly smooth going over the fabric. I watched as the wrinkles disappeared! A couple blasts (surge of steam) to help those stubborn wrinkles and his shirt looked brand new! I was left feeling very impressed by the XPRESS iron by Black and Decker! I would definitely recommend to others!

This iron performs very well for a basic price. I love the cord reel it makes it much easier to store. The buttons are well placed and easy to use. It steams very well which is important to me as I iron a lot of cotton while sewing. It’s also very easy to fill and see how much water is left in the tank. It doesn’t have some of the bells and whistles of my previous slightly higher priced model like a non-stick plate or digital display and heat selector, but I have not noticed them missing so far.

This iron is everything I ever dreamed an iron could be. It gets super hot and steamy in no time. It takes down wrinkles the first time around which saves a ton of time with not having to go back and redo it! As a awesome added bonus this iron has a retractable cord which is a really nice option as opposed to hand winding the cord. This is by far the best iron I have ever owned and I would highly reccomend buying it!

It’s OK. It heats up, steams, etc. Due to Covid, I didn’t go to the store to see it before buying this model. If I had, I would have made a different choice. The on-board cord storage feels clunky to me. I don’t even use it much, since my iron is out most of the time for my on-going sewing projects.
