This 40V, 1.5Ah battery came with a new Black and Decker string trimmer we bought in May, 2017. It was used only for our residence in north Florida (meaning year-round, but less in the winter). The battery was always charged right after use and stored in the house until the next use.It worked fine until January, 2019, when it seemed to not last as long one day and during the subsequent charge cycle the charger indicated an error while charging it. Total life was 19 months.I like that it could be used in the string trimmer and the mower, and that a charger came with both the trimmer and mower, so I could recharge multiple batteries simultaneously; but I expected the battery would have lasted longer. I usually expect about 5 years of service from a car battery and had hoped for the same with this one.
