I was disappointed that you did not have a battery charger on hand, as I had lost the one I had. I checked another store in the area and they did not have any either. I ended up having to buy another BD drill. I really do like the BK 20-volt Max lithium drill.

This is one of the best cordless drills/drivers out there for most DIY’ers. If you are NOT working in construction/contracting, or not a pro who works with power tools everyday for living, then YOU DO NOT need anything that’s 3 or 4 times more expensive than this one. It’s a complete waste of money. This will take on everything you throw at it. Drill the wall to hang the curtains, drill studs to hang TV Mount, I even drilled a METAL ROD with it and it went through effortlessly with a good expensive drill bit!The screw driver functionality is top of the line with slip-clutch to protect against over-tightening, again, it’ll take on all of your furniture-assembly projects. I love the fact that they’ve included one bit with 2 ends: Phillips and Straight heads. And it’s a very durable piece!I’m also really impressed with the battery, even though it’s just a 1.5Ah, it lasts a VERY long time! In fact, I bought this tool in 2015, and I’ve only had to re-charge it like 4 or 5 times!! Yes it’s that good!! I’ve never seen a Lithium-Ion battery that holds charge for such long time even if you don’t use it for months at a time!!! and After 3 years it’s still rocking! is that not a testimony to how well it’s made? The drill itself is light and comfortable to hold, solid build quality, nothing rattles, nothing creaks. The speed selector button and the direction reverse button are solid and did not loosen up after all this time, like they did in a RYOBI dill!!I see that some people complained about the chuck not having a locking mechanism, and that the drill bit may slip while working, This happened only once to me when I was drilling metal, I stopped and tightened it as hard as I could and then continued drilling, it never slipped again! So make sure you tighten the chuck as hard as you can, don’t worry, you are not gonna break it, you can’t.The only one little thing that bothers me from time to time is chuck wobble, when you use a small drill bit, which obvioulsly means you are working on something that requires acuracy and focus, you will see a bit of wobbling, but once the drill bit makes contacts it locks into place! the wobble is really barely noticeable (less than a millimeter) and practically doesn’t affect drilling accuracy. Also, from my understanding and word of mouth, all of these cordless drill/driver power tools, even the more expensive ones, suffer the same effect. Only Keyed metal chucks are going to be %100 accurate, but then again, those are reserved for corded drills.Further more, I don’t know it’s all of them or just mine because I abused the poor thing! I use it to drive car wheels lug nuts! Yep it does that too! But obviously you have to manually loosen them first. There are several reasons why it’s priced lower than the other tools:1. It’s a brushed motor, which means eventually you will need to replace the brushes because they are like brake pads, they wear out. But in reality, for typical home DIY projects, this will probably happen after a million years!!2.Battery charger, it’s a trickle charger type, not a fast charger, the other more expensive tools like Makita and Dewalt, come with fast chargers that can charge their batteries in 30 minutes, the charger for this B&D drill needs 3 hours to recharge completely, but the good thing about it is that it cuts off the power once the battery is fully recharged.3. Chuck size, it’s 3/8″, the more expensive ones come with a 1/2″ chuck!!!So you see the reasons why this tool is priced lower than the others, is not because it’s a lesser quality (that was my initial thought), but simply because of the lack of few modern features. But does that make it a bad choice? Not the least bit, far FAR from it. It’s just NOT targeting contractors and workers and that’s about it!So bottom line is, GET this tool if you are a home DIY kinda guy, it really is one of a kind in terms of value for money.

I’ve had a cordless B&D for the past 5+ years and loved it. When I decided to add a 20V drill, I looked at some of the well known brands – and found them heavy, expensive and more complaint reviews than my old standby. This drill is surprisingly light, slightly bigger than my original, and works very well. The only recommendation I would have is to package this drill with two batteries of larger capacity. I had to purchase a 2nd battery separately.
