Del was excellent. The battery was fully charged in just 4 hours. You download a B&D app on your phone and then pair that with the battery. On your phone you can see the battery’s charge %, temp, enable/disable the battery, set off a beep to find battery, and have the battery send status alerts.

Bought this for my wife because it was one of the lightest trimmers on the market. She has arthritis and can’t hold on to a heavy trimmer very long. I wanted to get the 40 volt model because I was concerned about battery life but after trimming 5 barberries and 5 rhodys it still had 70% charge left – which I was able to check on my phone because this model includes the Smartech battery which lets you do things like check the battery level, lock the battery and activate the USB charging ports on the battery. I probably will never use the last two features but I love getting accurate measurements of remaining battery power. I would love to see that percentage converted to remaining run time which I think would be more useful. They need to add this feature to more batteries. As far as the trimmer it is very well balanced, comfortable to hold and easy to use. The cuts were nice and clean. My wife had no problem using it and I won’t have to worry about cut extension cords any more.
