Very happy with this purchase. It is strong enough to handle basic weeding needs.

I really like this trimmer except for two things: where the battery is located and you cannot rinse off guard to clean it. The battery should be under handle not at end of it, too easy to damage it.

Its has more power than I thought. Wished it was a two line trim trimmer, but other wise it works great!

I had been holding off replacing my older black and decker weed wacker for a while but after replacing the spool cover and trying to fix the auto-feed function on it I gave up and looked for a replacement. This was basically the direct replacement. I like that the trimming head can be swiveled from the neck so that you can edge sidewalks/driveway/pathways/etc. but as for the actual edging it doesn’t do a great job. Doesn’t have quite enough power to properly edge unless you’re only trimming light grass. Won’t give the dirt underneath a fresh edge. This auto-feed button is also miles better than slamming the spool cover on the ground trying to get more string out, that’s probably why my old one stopped working. While the button is better I’ve found it doesn’t always feed and it stops the trimmer to feed as well. That’s about it for the positives. The build quality is significantly worse than the one I bought 5-6 years ago that I’m replacing. Same price, same brand, similar features, but significantly cheaper materials and overall look and feel. For starters the “handle” is very sloppy with a lot of play in it which is very annoying especially when edging and trying to keep a straight line. The plastic used also seems to be of a cheaper variety. The ergonomics also don’t feel anywhere near as comfortable as the old model. They tried to get away with making it shorter by allowing you more leeway in positioning the “handle” but overall it just feels too short even for someone of average height. It’s a shame though, I buy a lot of B&D equipment – mostly because I already have a big collection of batteries/chargers, and while they may not be the best they usually offer good value – and this is the first time I’ve been disappointed.

I like it due to it being light weight

I tested this out on my yard, which is a typical city-sized yard with grass, weeds, you name it. I started out on the power saving mode, but found that I was having to go back over areas to finish it. It was more effective to use in acceleration mode. I was able to nearly complete the perimeter of my back yard which was very overgrown before swapping the battery. The line hung up one time and required untangling the spool, but this happens no matter what type of trimmer you use. Line broke when edging my front lawn, but it did the job after re-feeding the line. Auto feed seems to be okay, but doesn’t always work as expected. The easy feed button seems to work fine. All in all, I’m happy with this tool. If you don’t have a lot of heavy trimming to do, it will do the job, and it’s great not to drag a cord around everywhere!

I just received this two days ago. Assembly was easy and charging of batteries took less time than anticipated. As soon as the batteries were charged I went out and trimmed my sisters one half acre lot. She has flower beds, a drainage culvert, and several other areas that needed trimmed. With the two batteries provided with the trimmer I completed everything in her yard except about three feet of her culvert. I simply recharged one of the two batteries in about an hour and then completed her yard. Very impressed with this trimmer. It is light and easy to handle.

Initially I was not impressed with this product. I bought it as a replacement to another Black & Decker cordless trimmer that I had that finally stopped working. This one didn’t seem to have near the power that the other one did. However, after scanning the instructions (which I rarely do with a new product and should know better), I found that it actually has two speeds. When I bumped it up to the higher speed it worked great. I also love the automatic line feed button which is very convenient. Not sure if I like the wheel that’s mounted on the head to allow you to trim a long driveways and sidewalks but it’s probably just because I’m not used to it. I’m sure it will grow on me. The fact that it is light weight makes it easy to use for long periods and the batteries charged pretty quickly as well. The fact that the unit comes with two batteries is also nice. It allows continuous usage with one battery while the other is charging.
