I haven’t had a chance to use it that much yet – However I do like the lighter weight and versatility compared to my older B-D. Had purchased 2 new batteries prior to ordering the newer model – thought they would fit but learned differently when the new model arrived. However – – – it was VERY GOOD I did purchase them because when the string trimmer arrived with two batts enclosed – NEITHER OF THEM WOULD TAKE AN INITIAL CHARGE ! ! How do I get them replaced at no further cost to me ? ? ? Please – if this can be handled through this comment – – do so ASAP.B-D has always met high standards in my mind . . . hope that continues – Thanks

I owned this trimmer and the Black and Decker blower for over two years, so here is the good, the bad, and the ugly:The Good:Easy to use, light, well built, perfect for small up to (barely) medium size yards. And I like the nifty feed button and adjustable head tilt feature.The Bad:Battery life is short, especially in the Texas heat! Not recommended as a sidewalk trimmer. Best used around planted beds, etc. The battery will heat up when used on medium size lawn. Marginal performance on tough Bermuda grass. More suite for St. Augustine grass.The Ugly:Not useful on medium lawns with lots of trimming. Poor battery performance in hot, humid climate. Batteries take long to charge causing you to work longer.

The trimmer must have the 3 amp battery. The 1.5 battery lasts only 20 minutes or so. The 3 amp battery needs to be sold with the trimmer, not the 1.5 amp. It took three phone calls and three weeks to get this situation solved. 20 minutes is not enough time to get any significant work done.

Good trimmer, more than enough power, I kept it at about 1/2 power setting. Easy to re-string line. Love not having a cord. Light and easy to maneuver. I used this trimmer on 1/4 acre lot from May to late August. Not sure what happened. Just stopped working during use. Now it will not turn on, battery show good. 🙁

Love the lightweight. Battery stays charged long enough for most of my back yard. (Which is nice size) Have not had to change the string yet. So, can’t say if it’s easy or not. But, I do like my trimmer.

The trimmer is great and I am fully satisfied but, the 2 batteries that came with it were both duds! i called in to the help line and the company is sending replacements. Thank you. Unfortunately it will take 2 weeks for them to arrive so the trimmer is useless until they do. Express shipping in this instance would have been nice and very helpful since our old trimmer (also B&D) gave up already.
