This is a great and handy tool. Powerful enough for light drilling and switches easily between drilling and driving. Was massively handy in re-building efforts after Sandy being able to swap between both tasks and supplementing with my 18v Dewalt drill for heavier duties. This is my second one, with the original still going strong other than the forward/reverse toggle switch getting worn out and not going forward anymore. Probably the one failing of the device is a slightly weak switch. But I gave it very hard use for over 6 years before that happened. B&D if you’re listening, start selling a replacement part for that so I can have a back-up!

This is the second B&D driver I have owned. The first was the 700. They are perfect for the job they were designed to do.I ordered it online and picked up at the store. I had an operation problem right out of the box. It’s operation was intermittent so I call Home Depot and they said call the manufacturer. I told them that “I bought it from you. You bought it from the manufacturer”… I got no answer.I called B&D and they were going to sent me shipping labels so I could box it up and ship it to their service center. I said that would cost me more time and money than what I paid for it. I declined their offer and fixed the problem myself.

I am a professional service technician. I have owned 2 of these since 2006. This is my go to tool for removing and inserting 5.5 mm screws in office copiers and printers. I remove and insert roughly 200 screws/day, 5 days a week between charges. What I really love is the 600rpm in drill mode. I use that for the screws. It makes a lot shorter work for me as most others are around 200-300rpm. When I am dealing with metal screws for plastic, I can shift to the lower speed of 180 rpm. Or if I need more torque, the same. The three positions help prevent carpal-tunnel when moving from horizontal to vertical screw insertions/removals. My only complaint on these has been the built in light. Come-on B-D, a yellow light? Don’t buy it for the light, the light sucks. Although the ni-cad batteries have worked for me, come-on B-D, start building them with lithium ones.

Very good for light jobs around the house. The adjustable handle is useful, as are the attached screwdriver bits. I wasn’t aware of the speed load function when I ordered it, and having to get a new set of drill bits to fit was an unexpected additional expense, but it is a great convenience when switching between drill and screwdriver bits. It’s size does reduce portability, my only real complaint.

After 3 years, my former PivotPlus couldn’t hold a charge. I have a much larger drill/driver but sometimes don’t need the power and its too big to fit in small areas. The PivotPlus is a great solution. I own 2. I went to Depot and the other store only to find that B&D doesn’t offer these at retail. I had to order this online. The new models were not designed as well except for their lithium batteries. The apparent replacement design for this models fell very short of what I feel are two significant and important features: 1. no ratchet for the screw driver. Without it, the driver will over tighten the screws. 2. Not a two speed: one for driving and one for drilling. I do like that the new model i’s smaller and has a better light, battery and battery indicator, but the missing features were a deal breaker for me.

This is the perfect drill for working around the home, or other smaller jobs. It might not be perfect for larger more rough jobs. The battery life is great and charges pretty fast. It fits all kinds of bits and the light is a great helper.
