I bought mine in 2011 and it is still going strong. Love this tool. Only complaint: there should be a charge indicator letting you know when it is fully charged.

I bought the first gen model with the tape measure in it back in 2004, to this day it still runs strong and never lets me down, although the battery is not as strong as when i first bought it that is to be expected, but to own it and use it from 2004 until now (2019) that’s 15 YEARS!! and it still runs like a top, the charger for it burnt up before the cordless driver did so i had to replace the charger, i was fortunate enough to find the newer model on sale for only a few dollars more than the charger itself so I just bought the whole thing, so I now own two and will continue to use the first model until it cant go anymore, the only dislike i have about the second gen is the dull amber LED light, i want to replace it with the original white LED, the amber light is very dull when trying to see to use it, so B&D if you are listening CHANGE IT BACK, other than that this is one of, if not the best cordless drivers i have ever owned, the newer model definitely has some big shoes to fill.

It may sound that excellent rating may not sound correct because this is my 5th replaced unit. The Excellent rating is because it works great for my projects around the house and I work it constantly. Each unit lasted at least for 2 years, both for drilling and screwing forward and backward. Very mobile.

I replaced the older, non-articulated model. Nice added features, like torque adjust. Two negatives: 1. Older unit would capture drill bits w/ “compression” type bit. This doesn’t. 2. Older unit was narrow & allowed getting closer to, say, a wall. This is thicker. I’m looking for a thinner unit next time.

It isn’t the best choice on the market. Not recommended.

I previously owned this drill for about 12 years (moderate usage) and loved it. One of the bits became stuck in the drill and could not be removed. It is now a glorified screwdriver since that is the bit that is stuck. I purchased a new drill but it is missing the little tape measure that is usually in the bottom of the handle. Even the user manual included with it shows it as a ‘part’ on the diagram. And I don’t mean its missing as in the tape measure fell out; there isn’t even a space for it, just a solid handle. Odd?! Also, the little light is now orange?? Found that very odd. Previously, the light was a bright white light (still works after 12 years on my original!!) But this one is a dim orange light….not a fan. Its a good drill/screwdriver, but I wish it had the white light and of course….the tape measure.
