Very useful and functional. I’ve been using hand saws for years. This beats them by a long shot!!

I contacted customer support regarding use of the power handsaw (PHS550B) for cutting stainless steel versus mild steel. The metal cutting blade is only rated for thin metal sheets or mild steel. The lack of a slower speed also makes it run to fast and heat-up too much for thicker and harder metals. Please consider offering more flexible use of your otherwise very useful power handsaw by upgrading it to variable speed brushless motor and offering bi-metal and carbide coated cutting blades as accessories. The tool is nice for older folks and artists like me who don’t have (or don’t want to have) a garage full of power tools. I use this tool for rough cuts only, be it thicker bush limbs or common lumber boards and the metal blade does work to make flush small nail or screw heads. But, on the other hand, the tools is no match for newer brushless cordless compact reciprocating saws like Bosch, Milwaukee, or Ryobi offer.

Excellent product. Had mine for about ten years. Never failed, works every time replaced blades often. Invaluable for trimming tree branches as large as 4″ diameter, pruning larger shrubs, removing stumps, even taking down smaller trees. Quick sawing of 2x4s, other wood without getting out the larger tools. Easy to change blades. Workhorse–just keeps on going! Thought of replacing, just because these may go out of production (I hope they never will), but I think this one will live forever. Black & Decker is a good company. Still have one of their 18v cordless drills — that thing has to be 20 years old. Not fancy, but works every time. –PB in VA

It was hard time to assemble the blade, so Home Depot worker recommend me to go Black DeckerService Center and finally attached the blade correct way and working very well.

I like it-it’s much safer for a 75-yr old lady than a chain saw-but of course is not as capable as a chain saw for bigger items. My handy man can do those items.

I’m very visual, so I had to watch You Tube in how to attach the saw on. I started out sawing a small branch, until I can get use to it. Sawed a more thicker branch with no problem. Yes I recommend this saw. The price was affordable for me to purchase.

I’ve only had this saw a few weeks. This is the only saw of its kind that is lightweight enough to work for me. It works very well. The only reason that I don’t give it five stars is that I’ve previously had two of these saws. Both quit working after two years, even though I didn’t use them often. I would expect more durability from a product made by Black and Decker.

It’s ideal for cutting small branches. On larger logs, the saw does not function well as it tends to shake and vibrate too much. Overall, a good and practical tool.

Easy to assemble but the teeth on the saw are already bending.

Glad I got it. It makes the cutting job a lot easier.

So far so good. I used this to cut down a bush that grew to tree size that was too close to the house and the rodents were using to get to the roof. I would give it 5 if the blade wasn’t such a pain to get just right. But once you get it in (YouTube is a wonderful thing) it operates perfectly. Iy took out healthy 3″ thick branches with no problem.
