Why does this toaster not have any type of soft close mechanism? If I open it, i have to manually lower the door to the counter as if i flick it open the door slams on the countertop. On older models, it kind of slowly lowers. Did I get a defective one? Is there some type of after market device i can use to stop this from happening? thank you.

Perfect for a small meal rather than fire up a large oven, especially in the summer. Bakes and Broils. Small trays with high sides to prevent spillage are available at some Dollar stores ( 8 X 10 inches). Purchased April 2018. Exactly what we wanted.

For the price it is definitely a good little toaster oven. In order to toast 4 slices at one time, the bread would have to be very small. The first few times I used it, it started smoking but that has stopped now. I have also baked small flat dinner rolls and heated up pizza and it worked fine…
