The trimmer does what it was designed to do. It handles all of my trimming needs with ease. It CT’s through stems 1/2 thick on my hibiscus bush. And, trims my pepperwood tree well. I have a small yard with few bushes that need trimming and it is the right size and power for my needs.

This is my second Black & Decker trimmer. My old one wasn’t sharp anymore so I bought this one. This one cuts really well and has a 4″ longer blade so I can cut more per sweep. BUT IT DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO LOCK THE TRIGGER LEVER so you must keep pulling the lever with your finger during the entire time you are cutting. I don’t know about you, but when I am trimming my hedges, I’ll be working at it for at least an hour at a time and that just makes this model harder to use. That’s why only 3 stars. Just seems basic to me that you’d be able to freeze the on/cutting trigger without keeping your finger pressing the lever all the time.

Used this trimmer one time since purchase 3 months ago.Lightweight and maneuverable, this trimmer helps avoid hand and arm fatigue. The cut is clean and does not mangle the vegetation. Power seems adequate for the size of stems it is designed to cut.Durability and longevity are unknown, not clear how often blades will need to be sharpened, or if they can be sharpened.One small irritation factor, once the guard is installed (keeps your fingers out of blades), the trimmer will no longer fit into the box. Not sure there is any reasonable solution to this, except for a bigger box.
