Perfect For making holes

Was outstanding at containing the ceiling drywall dust. I did three bedrooms without having to move out all the furniture, take off the bedding, or vacuum the walls and floor afterward.

Using a dust bowl should be standard practice when installing recessed lighting. This summer (2015), I used this exact bowl to install 6 inch recessed lights into my ceiling in my living room. It was a huge game changer because it catches 90% of all the stuff that falls on your head when your cutting holes in your ceiling. I give it 3/5 on Quality because after 3 drilled recessed lighting holes, my drill burned out the Yellow ring in the middle and was shredding the bowl every time I used it.Still – even when it was burning up – it was catching most of the dust. Have a big contractors garbage bag handy and go-for-it. This dust bowl keeps clean up easy.

Easy to use because it’s made out of a very flexible material. Did an excellent job of catching the drywall dust.

Works like a charm. It captures all of the dust that is created when cutting a hole out of your drywall; at least from a ceiling. I have not tried it on a vertical wall yet. It does become difficult to see your mark or pilot hole after the first use, but you just need to wipe a “window” for you to see with, or just rinse it out between each hole. If you want to compare (and don’t mind the mess), cut your first hole without it and then your second hole with it. This is a must when installing recessed lighting – you’ll never cut another hole without it!

Worked great covered under where I was using it & no dust on covers. Very little cleanup

Works great. Not a speck of dust. I could see the wear on the plastic center due to the chuck. I did a little retrofitting with two metal washers that solved that problem. This will last for years.

I’ve been using the rack-a-tiers branded version of this for more than 5 years. I’ve cut hundreds of holes in ceilings, walls and floors while using this. Was happy to see that home depot carries the same product at a competitive price. I’ve had employees go through these faster but that’s due to operator error and not the product itself (to much pressure while using a dull holesaw at a high rpm). There was a design change several years ago that improved the durability of where the hole saw arbor passes through the bowl and what the chuck can make contact on.I use a quick release style arbor that home depot doesn’t carry so I won’t be mentioning the brand name here it here. What I do know is that’s part of the reason we get so many holes out of one of these. Great product. Saves you time and money on installs. Saves on clean-up.

Very good product. Works as it should.

My only complaint is after a few holes it gets hard to see through the clear plastic to get it centered on the next hole to be drilled.

Works as expected. Much better than another person with a vacuum cleaner.First 4 holes were flawless. 5th hole the edge of the bowl left a ring on the ceiling. Haven’t had time to research why yet. It didn’t matter on this job because the customer had other repairs and painting to do. Just a heads up.I still like it.

Used it to cut 12 holes in drywall ceiling, clean cut with no dust. Would of bought one sooner had I known about it .
