For the price I think it’s a good deal. The ramekins are nothing special, typical porcelain coated ceramic. The finish on them was good, no defects in the finish. They are dishwasher safe and were cleaned fine in my dishwasher (I guess this is more a factor of the dishwasher and the detergent used). The torch is not shipped with butane so you will need to purchase that and add it to the torch before using it. I can understand why it’s not included, it makes shipping it more difficult, plus it’s easy to find it locally (hardware stores, grocery, home improvement stores and I am sure there are other seem to carry the refills). The feel of the torch is that it’s cheaply made, it does not have a quality feel to it. It does work and functions fine. For as often as I use it, it will probably last a lifetime if I don’t drop it to many times and break it. I you plan to use this a lot I would invest in a better quality one.

The Creme Brulee was a colossal disaster! Probably would have been a great Pinterest Fail opportunity had I actually photographed it!! However, none of my issues were with the Torch or the ramekins . The torch was super easy to fill with butane. It has adjustable heat (so don’t start with full power!!) I think that with some practice, I could learn to control it. The Ramekin set is nice but 4 oz is tiny. Of course, you don’t need more than 4 oz of Creme Brulee or any dessert – not that I couldn’t eat more because I love it so. Even with my over done and over torched Creme Brulee, the Ramekins still cleaned up great. This is a fun set to have but not something that I would use often. My thinking is, how nice is it to have the correct tool when you need it! Correct tools make the project!

I love this package!!! It is something I have wanted to use for a long time and never managed to acquire one. There are so many applications to use it in the kitchen I cannot wait to experiment more. The refueling was easy and the grip made me feel comfortable while operating it. This holiday season I am planning to make my own spiral ham, now it will be possible to have a nice golden crust like a fancy restaurant.

This set is Nice. Included are four ramekin dishes and a torch. The ramekins are very good quality , Microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe. They are branded Bonjour, very nice finish and they clean well by hand but can be put in the dishwasher too.The torch is a perfect size for home use and has all the functions one could expect and need in the home. It lights easy with the push of the back button after unlocking the safety lever. With a flame control and shut off switch it works well. Not restaurant quality but works every bit as well. Lots of plastic and the switches seem thin. The butane tank is covered by a metal tube. Be advised get some butane if your purchasing this as it’s not included in the box. The butane is easily put into the unit. The performance works very well, making a quick batch of S’mores was effortless . Laying down the gram cracker 1/2 in the ramekin, some chocolate a quick heat of the chocolate with the torch , next putting the marshmallow and torching it to that perfect brown .topping it with other half of the gram cracker. This thing worked great to make a favorite desert snack. If you have the need this is a great product excellent quality and a very good value . After this testing my college age son has claimed to take to school this year.

I have yet to use the ramekins for a creme brulee. I have used it to make a very shallow pot pie … I know it’s stupid, but I wanted to make sure they held up to heat and cleaned easily. Just as an aside … pot pies were delicious … not filling because the ramekins are only about 3/4 inch deep. I am glad to tell you that the ramekin were easy to clean and worked it the oven well. I have dropped one of them hard on my granite kitchen top … it didn’t crack or chip. The torch … again I didn’t use it on a creme brulee … worked well to light my charcoal chimney. Yeah that’s all I have used it for to date but with that I can tell you it is easy to fill with butane. Easy ignite. But is not so easy to adjust the flame with one hand.

It’s time for dessert! This selection includes 2 parts: the set of ramikens and the blow torch. The ramikens are well-made. The assistance even and solid without being too heavy. I’m attaching a picture to give a sense of size (my hands are a little big but not huge). So,the ramikens are a bit dainty. I was nervous about using the blow torch. But the I instructions are good. The for his also dainty, so I’m being careful with it. All in all, this set is a nice treat for making nice treats!

My family of 5 loves creme brulee so I was really excited to try out this torch. In my opinion, it’s just ok. It is a good size and weight, but to me it was hard to figure out if the butane was actually filling the container, and then to know when the container was full of butane and ready to use. Even when I followed the instructions it was still hard for me to tell, and working with a highly flammable gas made me nervous…If there were a fill gauge I would like it a lot better. The torch worked fine when I did fill it enough. The ramekins are nice enough, cook evenly and are easy to clean, but my hubby accidentally dropped a ramekin in our composite sink and it broke very easily. I would invest in a nicer set if I were going to be using it a lot.

For the price, you are getting a pretty good deal: four (slightly small) ramekins and the torch. However I removed a star because it doesn’t mention much about the butane, what size refill to get, and as a novice, it was a little scary to be filling this thing up with something so flammable. I had a friend do it. It also has lots of switches (air control, safety lock, flame control, big red button) and was a little confusing on how this would affect my flame or the food I was torching. It took a bit of playing around with (outside in fresh air) to figure it out. I would have liked to see better instruction and better labels on the torch. Otherwise, it was a lot of fun to brown the cheese on my onion soup and I’m looking for more fun recipes besides creme brulee to use this with!
