I think this is a great tool, especially when you purchase NGX saw plate to go with it. However, see my review of the saw plate. It only comes with one 55 inch Non Chip Strip. YOU NEED A SECOND ONE! This is essential for aligning the Clamp Edge when ripping full sheets of plywood. This is not noted anywhere in the product description and HD doesn’t offer the NCS as a separate purchase option.

This is a great tool. I’ve been fiddling for years with just clamping a long piece of straight wood to plywood when I need to make cuts with any precision. So, three clamps and a bulky piece of wood. It works, but it’s a pain. This tool allows you to clamp on sheet goods up to 4 feet wide and get cutting right away. It seems to clamp on consistently at a right angle, but I’m a bit compulsive, so I do check each time. You will have to do some calculation to know how far to set the clamp from where you need to cut–you have to calculate some offset from your saw’s guide. Unless–you can get the Bora Saw Plate that fits with this. If you have the saw plate, you fit your circular saw to the plate, attach an additional guide to the clamp edge, and after setup, you can set the guide to where you want your cuts. This speeds up the process like crazy, and basically gives you the capabilities of a track saw from your circular saw. Great stuff.

It works but very time consuming checking and double checking that the saw is aligned correctly as well as the saw offset is correct for the cutting once aligned with the guide. The buckles aren’t as robust as i’d hope they’d be and are too flexible to be able to hold the saw in place without movement. one of my buckles wasn’t completely assembled as it was missing a pin for the closure. luckily i was able to get a nail to fit for the purpose. I’m happy with the product and i feel it provided me with straight cuts. it just takes a long time for set up.

This NGX Saw Plate can be great but it does not fit my Milwaukee M18 circular saw and the directions are complicated. The plate will hold the vast majority of circular saws though and glides across the BORA NGX Saw Edge systems. The problem with my M18 circular saw is that its bottom plate is not a rectangle, the back inside end does not have a corner for the clamp to attach nor can I ensure that my saw is perfectly square on the ruler marks of the NGX plate (see pictures). The directions are complicated. First, I put the no-chip strip in the wrong spot. The directions say to put it on the edge of the NGX Edge saw guide but didn’t specify underneath the Edge. I tried to remove the strip but the adhesive came off too and it was a mess. Second, its fairly easy in theory to mount a saw on the plate but the directions make it difficult. I found myself wondering what the heck an “excrusion” is. The illustrations could be much better. This plate is well-engineered and sturdy. Using this plate, it is much easier to get an accurate cut because the no chip strip tells you where the blade will cut as opposed to not using the saw plate and measuring the distance from your circular saw’s blade to the edge of the edge clamp. I still use my NGX Edge saw guide as its a great substitute for lugging big boards across a table saw. The saw must be mounted perfectly on this plate for smooth and clean cuts. Made in China.

So glad I have one of these. While I admittedly haven’t used it much, it has been great the handful of times I have put it to use. Cuts now come out perfectly straight, which was always a struggle when simply following a line or using a makeshift guide out of a straight edge and clamps. I also own the saw plate for this guide but wasn’t sure that the blade and edge were parallel nor convinced that the saw would stay firmly in place, so I never actually used it to cut anything. One of these days I’ll give it another shot.Back to the guide:. There’s 50″ between the jaws, so cutting a 4×8 piece of plywood across the shorter side isn’t a problem. Once tightened down, they grip the edges really well – no issues with them coming loose. Now, I’m not sure if this is a design issue or a feature, but once you loosen the clamp, you kind of have to fiddle with it in order to move the jaw. Kind of annoying but not a deal breaker. Another thing that bothers me is the fact that the critical parts (jaws, clamp) are made out of plastic. Should be fine for regular homeowner use, but longevity is a concern. One thing to note is that the clamp sticks out close to 3″ when it is tightened – just something to consider as this may be a problem if you have to set this up on the floor.

It is a nice product but the clamp pressure is not that strong, it can slip and will if there is any pressure from the saw. Also the height or thickness is a little to much who’s had only allows the skill saw to be used in one direction. Slipping while clamp is set is main concern.

Boro NGX 5-Piece Clamp Edge Deluxe Set is an excellent way to cut sheet-goods and other tasks. The set consists of two guide rail pieces to handle 4 x 8 panels. One aluminum guide is used to cross-cut the four foot side with a 50-inches long track. For the rip cut, add the second 50-inch guide extension to the first guide for a 100-inch length, a little over 8-feet long. The two set of tracks are held together securely with metal bars and four screws. The track is then laid on top of the supported panel and two edge clamps on each side, under the guide, are easily tightened to give a rock solid grip onto the panel edges. Two included track clamps are also included if you want an angle cut, any angle can be cut up to 90-degrees is possible. You can cut full 4 x 8 panels or smaller sizes easily with this setup. The circular saw making the cut can run along the edge of the aluminum track guide or attached with the provided saw sled that slips into the aluminum guide securely in a groove. Once the saw is mounted to it runs along a groove in the guide preventing the saw from wandering, assuring a straight cut.. It works similar to a track saw. Included in the set used with the sled plate are two lengths of 3M non-chip strips that attach to the bottom for riding on the panel. It minimizes any top edge tear-out for a cleaner cut. This is useful for bonded veneers; although not needed for other panels like MDF or construction grade plywood. The sled is made of sturdy plastic with honeycomb reinforcement that is rigid, doesn’t flex. The saw is held-down with hold-down screws and clips, can be positioned and removed easily. Bora also offers, optionally, other tool sled plates to hold routers and a jig saws that work with the track guide, too.I own a portable table-saw and continue to prefer Bora’s system for breaking down sheet-goods resting on two saw horses. It is safer than handling large sheets alone on the table saw. It gives me more control making the cut safe and clean.

I have used this quite often. The only problem that I had was with the base when I attached my saw I was trying to cut the edge of my countertop which was 1 1/2″. My 7 1/2″ blade wouldn’t cut deep enough to get the whole edge.

I have used a few different clamp edge guide before so I am familiar with this type of product. This one is the best one that I have used by far. For me, it is the clamping action that makes it stand out. This may seem simple but other manufacturers have not gotten this perfect in my opinion. The clamp holds very tight without squeezing the material too much. Others will either slip because they are not tight enough or they will be so tight that either the edge guide or the material is bowed. Bora gets it perfect!

I have wanted a track saw to breakdown plywood for a long time, but I could not justify the cost for a tool that I would use only a few times per year. The Bora NGX 5-Piece Clamp Edge Deluxe Set is well designed, extra sturdy and easy to use. The Bora NGX Set is less than one-third the cost and functions just as well as a track saw; therefore I think it is the perfect alternative for the DIYer who cannot afford a track saw. The BORA NGX clamping system is super strong and will not slip. I was especially pleased with the track clamps that came with the set, they allow the clamps to be used to make cuts at angles other than 90 degrees. Joining the two 50 inch straight edges together with the track clamps allow for angle cuts even on sheets of plywood. A phillips head screwdriver is required to connect the two straight edges together, but even though this may be a hassle, it serves to insure that the straight edge is indeed straight.I was impressed that the set even came with 2 Rolls of 55-inch self-adhesive non-chip strips used for reducing top edge tear-out. I was disappointed with the instructions that came with the set, I found them to be almost useless. I also had to look through several tool bags to find a #3 allen wrench which is required to move the brackets that hold the skill saw on the saw plate—it seems that a #3 allen wrench could be included in the set. I did find a wonderful video on YouTube from WorkshopAddict that does an excellent job of showing me all of the features of the BORA NGX set.I would definitely recommend the BORA NGX 5-Piece Clamp Edge Deluxe Set for anyone who already has a skill saw and is looking for a low cost alternative to a track saw.

Purchased this kit to augment a WTX have owned for many years. Clamp mechanism of NGX is much better design IMO and is easy to set. Using the saw sled with Mak 18V LXT sidewinder and this combo works well to add and easy to set up track saw rig for panel work in my pocket shop.

This is one of those tools I never knew I needed until I tried it. I’ve always used a couple of clamps and something with a “straight” edge to try to get a straight line. That involved finding something straight and of course running from side to side of the sheet to adjust the clamp. This tool takes all that extra effort away. Set it where you need it and quickly clamp it at one end, then cut. Done.
