I love the clamp and rails.I was impressed with this edge clamp set. I have wanted one for a while now and was happy to get this one. The 50″ rails (2) have a good weight to them and when connected to make a 100″ single rail is very sturdy.I gave this set 4 stars because I didn’t like the setup of the saw attachment. I watched a couple of You Tube videos about connecting the saw to the plate and then to the rails. The directions included with the set also were a little vague for the first time user. After watching the videos, I decided to just use the rails. I do plan on using the saw plate attachment in the future, but didn’t want to take the time to figure out all the measurements. I will update my rating to 5 if I find the saw plate makes a great improvement. I did like the two extra clamps that are included in this set. I’m planning on building a shed in the near future and already see that some of the cuts will be improved with the versatility of these two clams to secure the rails. I am happy with this set and will be using it many times in my future. It’s a great buy and I want to learn how to use the saw plate. I think it will be a welcome piece once I figure out how to use it.

BORA 5-Piece Clamp Edge Saw Guide. Well built and nice features. When the extension is added, it can handle an eight foot piece of plywood. I dropped this product down a point because the instructions could use a lot more detail. Especially on installing the non-chip strips. Took me a while and a phone call to figure it out. First, straighten the strips out as much as possible. Second, the blue covering needs to be removed from the double sided tape. If your not careful, you’ll remove the tape along with the blue covering. One strip on each guide. Make sure the strip is on the same side of each guide. The side of the strip that has the tape goes on one side of the bottom of the guides (lower step on bottom). When the strip is installed, the tape side of the strip should be level with the upper step of the guide. The other edge of the strip should overhang the edge of the guide. The saw should be used on the side of the guide with the strip attached (overhang). Mounting the saw to the saw plate was easier and is adjustable in all directions. I stored my saw with the plate attached. The adjustible clamp holds the board tightly and gives you a ridgit, straight guide to cut on. Can be used with or without the sawplate. Using the saw plate is easier.

Excellent saw guide, an important tool if you dont own a table saw or cant lug a large sheet of plywood across a table saw. It is very easy to use and the clamp is strong. The clamp has a temporary setting before you lock it into place. It locks very tight and may bow up so you should leave the clamp a little loose before cinching it down. It holds onto the piece nicely. For sawing, all you need to do is know the distance from the edge of you saw plate to the cut (mine is 4″) and set the clamp that distance away. The clamp can fit easily across 4 foot sheet and is durable as well. It can also be used for scoring drywall. This is a great tool to have in the workshop and hangs easily on a nail for storage. In the past I have used my most straight piece of wood and clamps. This saw guide saves me time and hassle.

BORA NGX Clamp Edge Saw Guide is a quality guide for circular saws, routers and even jig saws. It is made of heavy duty aluminum with an excellent clamping method that secures the guide rail above on top of the sheet goods with an edge clamp. The handle to tighten the guide is easy to use by one person and doesn’t budge at all when used with the saw. A secure fit is critical in preventing the saw from wandering off the cut. It doesn’t happen often, but it can ruin the cut and I’ve done it. I had a shorter Rockwell guide and it wasn’t nearly as well done as this one. There is an optional second section that can be joined to this 50-inch rail extending it to handle rip cut for sheet length goods, too.An advantage of this system is the excellent options that can be had, sold separately, to make it even better to use. I used my rail with their universal circular saw plate that mounts the circular saw using hold down clamps. The plate can then be slipped into the slots on the top of the aluminum rail securing it. It then works more closer to a track saw. Included with the plate is a length of 3M non-chip strip to attach to the bottom of the plate along the saw blade, reduces any top edge tear-out for a cleaner cut. This is useful for bonded veneers. Bora has similar plates for routers and a jig saws that slip into the slots on the top of the rail. Finally, I was at initially concerned about the plate being plastic. It is thick plastic and feels substantial for DIY work, all well done. I tried the rail and saw plate out with my Milwaukee cordless circular saw and it fit nicely after about five minutes of making set-up adjustments. You have to slide over the hold down rail that has two clamps and make it exactly parallel to the saw blade and lined up on the plate’s blade guide. It is all easily done with allen screws and a flat slotted screwdriver. Really not a big deal, but the saw has to be accurately lined up to get a straight cut. I didn’t use their non-chip tape and didn’t need it for the MDF used. Overall, this is an excellent tool for crosscutting sheet goods. The rail alone is first rate and with the circular saw plate it goes quicker and is more accurate. I also own a small work-site table saw and when working alone prefer this method to cut sheet goods on two saw horses. It just is safer with my experience level and equipment setup. I feel the Bora system however you’ve configured it is a good value for DIY-ers to other methods.

I found this guide to be very solid as I did not see any measurable deflection when using it and it worked great as a guide. However, not a great track saw substitute. Using either the Saw Plate or just the guide, I found the cuts to be true. I also found that it helped when using the Saw Plate to use a dry lubricant (I used PTFE) on the guide as this allows the saw move much easier on the guide. The guide itself is easy to set up and when locked down it doesn’t move. Using the Saw Plate ensures that your cuts will be true. (I have been known to drift away from a guide.) I think the clamps that allow the guide to be used at an angle across a piece of plywood were very clever and worked great.However, I found the lack of instructions for setting it us to use like a track saw to be lacking to say the least. The instructions were just pictures without any written explanations of any of the steps. Consequently, it took me quite a while to get the saw(s) set up to see how they worked. In addition, it requires a metric allen wrench to set up a saw on the Saw Plate and this wasn’t included so I had to file down another allen wrench to fit. I set put the ‘non chip strip’ on the guide and tried the saw with 24-tooth blade and had minimal tear-out. However, when I switch to the saw with the 60-tooth blade I did have tear-out. Not sure why. I joined the two sections of the guide together to see how that worked and found the joint was not exact, and I had to file the bottom of the lead edge of the Saw Plate so it would not hang up on the joint.I recommend this product an the basis that you will get straight true cuts using the guide particularly when using the Saw Plate. I would have rated it higher if it in fact eliminated tear-out and the instructions were easier to follow. I also found that the nuts that are held in position when tightening the guides on the Saw Plate can rotate as they are not a snug fit in the slots they sit in.

This Bora clamp deluxe just make my jobs so much easier I do carpentry, cabinets, and other wood work, now I can make my cuts much more straight, or in any angle, the with extension you can cut a plywood 8 feet long or you can take the extension off and do smaller cuts, the saw plate is included and so easy to attach a circular saw, you can move it to different measurements positions to make your cuts, definitely I will recommend this Bora clamp deluxe for smaller or big jobs

I had a problem with the non-chip strip; it was pulling away from the metal and adhesive after I installed it. I contacted the manufacturer and they immediately sent a replacement.

Good quality product for the price. Maybe not as nice as a good track saw, but for the few projects I do each year it works fine. Allows straight cutting of 4×8 sheets in both directions. It works best with saws that have a flat metal base on top. My Porter Cable saw has ridges on top of the base which creates some problems. I ended up purchasing a Dewalt saw as the base is flat on top. I’d recommend getting a separate 4′ section for cross cutting sheets of plywood (4′ direction) to avoid having to keep taking the guide apart. Also the saw sits fairly high off of the wood so the cutting depth is reduced quite a bit. A 6 1/2″ blade would be marginal.

Excellent! I’ve been using home-made straight edges and boards that I’d screw down to a table, run my circular saw down it and sort of get me some straight cuts. But, it was practically laughable! Not to mention dangerous! Been wanting one of the saw guides for long time now!I got the Bora, I love it and I also wonder why I waited sooo long to buy me one. Just not tooo smart on my end!This one is an all aluminum straight edge, thick rigid plastic for the rest. Def not JUNK! When I lock it in place it don’t give, or “walk” on you, so to speak. Solid, thick plastic clamps! The aluminum is thick, I just don’t see it warping, bending or nothing like that anytime soon, at all. The saw slides right on down for a perfect straight cut every cut I’ve made so far! I can’t understand what took me sooo long finally get me one of these saw guides! Anyway, it’s simple to use, like they say, you only lock it from one side and no going to the other side of your table or whatever, no wasting time and walking around! Adjusts easy, none of that binding or anything like that while trying to adjust clamp! This is big help if you got a few cuts to make, if you just want a perfect cut each time or if you’re like me and don’t want to break out your table saw for everything a table saw is needed for! This turns my circular saws into table saws, simply and quickly! I love it. Did I mention I just can’t believe it took me sooo long to finally get me one of these??! If you’re on the fence about buying you one, I’d get this Bora, it’s sooo worth it, you’ll be glad you got you one, especially the “Bora” saw guide. They’re def high end!Should anything go bad or anything crazy happen with mine I’ll update my review, but so far, so excellent!

I am reviewing the saw plate, and the 100″ NGX two piece saw guide. Pros1) Easy to set upCons1) The saw plate is plastic. The buckles that hold it to your saw are aluminum, but they are secured to a plastic base.2) The saw guide clamping mechanism is plastic. There’s no way that clamp is going to stand up to years of use 3) It takes quite a bit of force to securely clamp the guide to your work piece, which tends to move the guide a tiny bit from your proposed cut line. You can back off the clamp pressure if you want, but then you risk the guide moving during your cut.4) When mounted on the saw guide, the saw plate rocks a bit from side to side. You can see this on YouTube videos. Since it doesn’t make contact with the wood, it is unstable and will not produce an accurate 90 degree edge5) The saw plate comes with a 55″ cutting strip, but the 100″ guide doesn’t include any strip. So basically, if you want to make clean cuts, you need to spend another $20 for an addition Non-Chip Strip. Not cool Bora!6) The two 50″ cutting guides are made of a thin gauge aluminum. It’s not a problem where cutting is concerned, but just shows how quality took a back seat to profits.Here’s the bottom line;If it came with a 100″ cutting strip, had metal clamps on the guides, and was priced under $100, I’d give it an additional star because the design is kind of cool. As it stands now, it’s an overpriced, over-hyped, novelty item. I returned mine after one use, and decided to make my own with 80/20 aluminum.

This tool is like having a portable track saw. I most recently used it for ripping and cross cutting sheets of plywood and 4’x8’ PVC trim sheets. And using it with the caddy/sled/sawplate/whatever-you-want-to-call-it, which attaches to the saw, sure beats my previous method. No more fighting an imperfect 2×4 to stay flush. The caddy fits on two of my 7 1/4” saws (one corded, one cordless), as well as my little 6 1/2” cordless. At first I struggled to attach the saws, but that was because I wasn’t lifting the blade. Once attached, you lower the saw blade to make sure there’s reasonable cutting depth (keep in mind the caddy’s clamps should be placed as to not interfere with the saw’s motor/housing etc… I made that mistake too). That brings me to the paper instructions…. Would have been nice if they were clearer. Bora’s website wasn’t any help either… I had to goto youtube to figure it out. There are a lot of fine adjustments required to get the saw perfectly straight in the caddy, so I’ve left my corded saw in it so it’s ready to go for the next project.The guide comes in two pieces, which when combined provides 100”. Keep in mind when you only use the main piece you’ll get a little less than a 50” cut due to the clamps on each end. Would have been nice if this guide had quick change/setup capability to go from 55” to 100”. Assembly to 100″ requires removing a few screws and then screwing the ends together. Of course, then you have to reverse the process to take it apart for storage. I greatly appreciate the hanging hooks on both guides since I can get them out of the way when not in use.The 50” and 100” non-chip adhesive tape strip, is a nice idea in theory. In practice, it’s useless in my opinion unless you (a) adhere it perfectly straight (although it will be kinda straight if not perfect after the first cut); and (b) make only straight cuts. If you do a beveled cut you’ll cut the tape unless you flip the whole sled contraption around to the other side of the track…. and doing so changes the blade’s position. I haven’t tried the two additional track clamps for angle cutting yet because I haven’t needed angular cuts. To attach the track clamps you have to remove the ends and slide them onto the track. Overall this seems well built and it’s a very helpful tool for the DIYer like me who wants the advantages of a track saw. I’m pleased with it.
