It makes cutting perfect straight lines with a circular saw easy. This will cut across the 48” side of plywood or any sheet good. You can also add another 50” section and rip the full length of a sheet of plywood. Cheaper than a track saw.

Excellent! I’ve been using home-made straight edges and boards that I’d screw down to a table, run my circular saw down it and sort of get me some straight cuts. But, it was practically laughable! Not to mention dangerous! Been wanting one of the saw guides for long time now!I got the Bora, I love it and I also wonder why I waited sooo long to buy me one. Just not tooo smart on my end! This one is an all aluminum straight edge, thick rigid plastic for the rest. Def not JUNK! When I lock it in place it don’t give, or “walk” on you, so to speak. Solid, thick plastic clamps! The aluminum is thick, I just don’t see it warping, bending or nothing like that anytime soon, at all. The saw slides right on down for a perfect straight cut every cut I’ve made so far! I can’t understand what took me sooo long finally get me one of these saw guides! Anyway, it’s simple to use, like they say, you only lock it from one side and no going to the other side of your table or whatever, no wasting time and walking around! Adjusts easy, none of that binding or anything like that while trying to adjust clamp! This is big help if you got a few cuts to make, if you just want a perfect cut each time or if you’re like me and don’t want to break out your table saw for everything a table saw is needed for! This turns my circular saws into table saws, simply and quickly! I love it. Did I mention I just can’t believe it took me sooo long to finally get me one of these??! If you’re on the fence about buying you one, I’d get this Bora, it’s sooo worth it, you’ll be glad you got you one, especially the “Bora” saw guide. They’re def high end!Should anything go bad or anything crazy happen with mine I’ll update my review, but so far, so excellent!

Cuts straight lines and is a great tool. Guide does stick while cutting and adhesive tape starts to peel off when not in use.

This is a very convenient tool for cutting across large sheets, like plywood. Being 50″ wide means being able to handle 4′ sheets of plywood. Having a self locking feature is another nice feature. Simply line up on your marks, lock it into place and cut.

Awesome. I can now cut straight with my circular saw.

This product was not what I expected. I thought I could use it with the WTX system that I have, but it would mean I would have to doube up on to straight edges. I think they need to make T square accessary for WTX straight edge system,

The Bora NGX Clamp Edge Saw Guide is a good way to get a straight line cut on sheets of plywood or even other sheet products. The basic construction of this tool is of an aluminum extrusion and a plastic clamping system that quickly adjusts to any length of material up to about 50 inches. The actual clamp is easy to use with a large clamping handle. This saw guide is lightweight and once clamped to sheet of material doesn’t stand high enough to interfere with those saws where the motor hangs out beyond the base plate of the saw. This means you can cut with either side of saw. I prefer to hang the motor side of the saw onto the larger (clamped side) of the material but you must decide which way the saw is going to go because the measurement from the edge of the saw’s base plate is different on each side. This brings up another concern in that the line to be cut has to be marked and the saw guide has to be off-set by that amount. My easy fix for that is to cut one or two small blocks of wood, measuring exactly the amount from the edge of the saw’s base plate to the blade, then use them to mark the location where your saw guide will be placed and secured. So that brings us to a point where you want to ask why not just snap a chalk line mark and follow it. I have to say that this clamp edge saw guide will provide a straighter cut than following a chalk line but it will take a lot more time and the results may not be worth it for many users. I want to also mention that Bora NGX has an accessory saw plate (Part #544001) that allows attachment of most circular saws and slides over the top of this saw guide that will give results similar to a track saw. I have included a photo of that product below. Overall I think that this is a good product that will provide excellent results when used properly but it requires much more time than using the good old chalk line.

Cannot overstate the convenience of the locking mechanizm

Tried to use it over the weekend on a few sheets of plywood. It seems as if not completly square. There does not seem to be any adjustments to square it off perfectly.

I found this guide to be very solid as I did not see any measurable deflection when using it and it worked great as a guide. However, not a great track saw substitute. Using either the Saw Plate or just the guide, I found the cuts to be true. I also found that it helped when using the Saw Plate to use a dry lubricant (I used PTFE) on the guide as this allows the saw move much easier on the guide. The guide itself is easy to set up and when locked down it doesn’t move. Using the Saw Plate ensures that your cuts will be true. (I have been known to drift away from a guide.) I think the clamps that allow the guide to be used at an angle across a piece of plywood were very clever and worked great. However, I found the lack of instructions for setting it us to use like a track saw to be lacking to say the least. The instructions were just pictures without any written explanations of any of the steps. Consequently, it took me quite a while to get the saw(s) set up to see how they worked. In addition, it requires a metric allen wrench to set up a saw on the Saw Plate and this wasn’t included so I had to file down another allen wrench to fit. I set put the ‘non chip strip’ on the guide and tried the saw with 24-tooth blade and had minimal tear-out. However, when I switch to the saw with the 60-tooth blade I did have tear-out. Not sure why. I joined the two sections of the guide together to see how that worked and found the joint was not exact, and I had to file the bottom of the lead edge of the Saw Plate so it would not hang up on the joint.I recommend this product an the basis that you will get straight true cuts using the guide particularly when using the Saw Plate. I would have rated it higher if it in fact eliminated tear-out and the instructions were easier to follow. I also found that the nuts that are held in position when tightening the guides on the Saw Plate can rotate as they are not a snug fit in the slots they sit in.

It works but very time consuming checking and double checking that the saw is aligned correctly as well as the saw offset is correct for the cutting once aligned with the guide. The buckles aren’t as robust as i’d hope they’d be and are too flexible to be able to hold the saw in place without movement. one of my buckles wasn’t completely assembled as it was missing a pin for the closure. luckily i was able to get a nail to fit for the purpose. I’m happy with the product and i feel it provided me with straight cuts. it just takes a long time for set up.

The clamp is excellent and I expect to use it often. My only complaint is that the adhesive on the tape strip is not strong and the strip tends to peel off completely.

This clamp will work well for long cuts as it will reach across a 48 inch width and It comes with an extension for a full 8 foot use. The clamp easily slides in the track and you can adjust pressure by careful placement. The clamps are only 3/4 inch thick so it works well with most stock. It also comes with a sled to mount your circular saw on. It is designed to hold most by simple adjustments. All of this can be a challenge to figure as the instructions are broken to simple drawings and no written text. There are also some clamps included which are designed for making long angle cuts.

It’s straight and it locks. Feels pretty solid but doesn’t slide that smoothly. It can give one a false sense of security in thinking you are making straight cuts but you will need to double or triple check before you cut. When paired with the bora saw base plate it is even more the case to triple check your lines, measurements and fasteners as things can get out of adjustment after each pass. Overall can produce straight and accurate cuts but it will take a long time and adjustment(s).

Boro NGX 5-Piece Clamp Edge Deluxe Set is an excellent way to cut sheet-goods and other tasks. The set consists of two guide rail pieces to handle 4 x 8 panels. One aluminum guide is used to cross-cut the four foot side with a 50-inches long track. For the rip cut, add the second 50-inch guide extension to the first guide for a 100-inch length, a little over 8-feet long. The two set of tracks are held together securely with metal bars and four screws. The track is then laid on top of the supported panel and two edge clamps on each side, under the guide, are easily tightened to give a rock solid grip onto the panel edges. Two included track clamps are also included if you want an angle cut, any angle can be cut up to 90-degrees is possible. You can cut full 4 x 8 panels or smaller sizes easily with this setup. The circular saw making the cut can run along the edge of the aluminum track guide or attached with the provided saw sled that slips into the aluminum guide securely in a groove. Once the saw is mounted to it runs along a groove in the guide preventing the saw from wandering, assuring a straight cut.. It works similar to a track saw. Included in the set used with the sled plate are two lengths of 3M non-chip strips that attach to the bottom for riding on the panel. It minimizes any top edge tear-out for a cleaner cut. This is useful for bonded veneers; although not needed for other panels like MDF or construction grade plywood. The sled is made of sturdy plastic with honeycomb reinforcement that is rigid, doesn’t flex. The saw is held-down with hold-down screws and clips, can be positioned and removed easily. Bora also offers, optionally, other tool sled plates to hold routers and a jig saws that work with the track guide, too.I own a portable table-saw and continue to prefer Bora’s system for breaking down sheet-goods resting on two saw horses. It is safer than handling large sheets alone on the table saw. It gives me more control making the cut safe and clean.

This is a must have for small shops. It’s a great straight edge. Now, I have had it slip on me a couple of times. I now clamp both ends as an added safety measure.

I have wanted a track saw to breakdown plywood for a long time, but I could not justify the cost for a tool that I would use only a few times per year. The Bora NGX 5-Piece Clamp Edge Deluxe Set is well designed, extra sturdy and easy to use. The Bora NGX Set is less than one-third the cost and functions just as well as a track saw; therefore I think it is the perfect alternative for the DIYer who cannot afford a track saw. The BORA NGX clamping system is super strong and will not slip. I was especially pleased with the track clamps that came with the set, they allow the clamps to be used to make cuts at angles other than 90 degrees. Joining the two 50 inch straight edges together with the track clamps allow for angle cuts even on sheets of plywood. A phillips head screwdriver is required to connect the two straight edges together, but even though this may be a hassle, it serves to insure that the straight edge is indeed straight.I was impressed that the set even came with 2 Rolls of 55-inch self-adhesive non-chip strips used for reducing top edge tear-out. I was disappointed with the instructions that came with the set, I found them to be almost useless. I also had to look through several tool bags to find a #3 allen wrench which is required to move the brackets that hold the skill saw on the saw plate—it seems that a #3 allen wrench could be included in the set. I did find a wonderful video on YouTube from WorkshopAddict that does an excellent job of showing me all of the features of the BORA NGX set.I would definitely recommend the BORA NGX 5-Piece Clamp Edge Deluxe Set for anyone who already has a skill saw and is looking for a low cost alternative to a track saw.

Have you ever had to rip a piece of material and tried to do it with just a steady hand? It’s really hard to get a straight accurate cut. The Bora five piece clamp set with straight edge gives you the ability to get a straight clean cut. You can do four or eight foot material and if the clamp set is difficult to figure out there is a web site available with instructions on the proper use of this handy tool
