With the PORTAMATE PM-1000 adjustable mobile base, size is no longer an issue. Fully adjustable mobile base features side rails and corner pieces with holes spaced every 1 in. to ensure the perfect fit for your machine. Move band saws, table saws, sanders, drill presses, jointers, planers and much more. Holds machines up to 400 lbs.

Versatile design. Worked on my Hawk scroll saw (long and skinny), and my Craftsman 14″ band saw (almost a square). Now I can leave the band saw up against the wall when I am cutting small parts, and move it to the center of my work shop when re-sawing long pieces.Lifting the equipment off the floor is done with an aluminum cam-lever. There is a tiny drop of lubricant on the plate for this cam. I put white petroleum lube on it. Works better that way. Lifting is easy enough, but keep your hands on tall-top-heavy band saw when lowering. Lifting goes smoothly, coming down DROPs to the floor.Instructions were adequate, but I would have liked more examples of how to arrange the eight bars to make the correct dimension.Make wise choice of where the flip levers on the swivel casters will be when the machine is in operation. The levers can be reversed, but planning will save a re-do. The fixed casters will be the LAST thing you attach if you have to attach the bars to any of the holes around the caster. You can’t insert the bolt for the bar if the caster is already installed. In the case of my band saw, the caster bolt went through the stretcher bar. Took away one star for the awkward dropping action of the lift and barely adequate casters. I still recommend it if you have to move everything around like I do.

The Portamate is an excellent tool. It was easy to get the exact width I wanted but had to cut about three inches off of two of the long channels to get the length I needed. Not a problem. The whole thing is well designed and the powder coat finish is great. I will order more of these in the future.

This stand is easily assembled, and, if like me, you have a tool too large to fit, it is easily enlarged by using an angle iron of longer length. I really like how you can switch the pivot wheels either from the front or the side. Good quality. But… the instructions state you need a 10mm wrench, but you also need a 7/16″ wrench, too. This is a small challenge, and I am sure it will be corrected soon.

This product is a great solution for someone who has to move power tools around the workshop or garage. I bought two, one for my band saw, and one for my table saw.I was actually preparing to build a small stand with wheels for my new band saw when I came across these things. A very good value. I don’t think I could have purchased a set of good wheels for the price. The instructions could be a bit clearer, but I think anyone with basic skills will figure it out. (The second one went together much faster.)A few words of advice: Make sure to check the size of the base of your equipment. For example, f you need to use the included extra brackets to make your base wider, your depth will be limited. (I was fortunate to have had two small brackets left over from one to use on the other.)Also, before you start assembly, check that all the parts are included. One of the boxes I had received was missing a bag with two important parts. (I called and received them a week later.)
