Purchased with Bosch router table and it all works great. Have not had time for ant large projects. Test runs proved positive.

I have had this for several months now, and I have it mounted in a table that I made myself. The height adjustment works perfectly without having to buy separate router lift

This is an excellent router for general woodworking if you do not need a plunge router. This machine has plenty of power for most jobs you will do.The variable speed control is critical on a general purpose router and this one works great. They also make a plunge base for this machine which makes it outstanding, although it’s a bit balky changing over to the plunge base ( hangs up,hard to slide at times). This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. This machine also has a soft start feature which will keep it from twisting out of your hands when you turn it on.

At seventy one I find the two round grips hard to change on to and like the ones on My 3.5 hp Makita that has been converted to a shaper for T&G ing

I used this router so far for doing cutouts and edge work on 3/4″-2″ thick MDF, plywood and pine. No problems with making a straight cut or whatever detail work I’m doing, bought the circle cutting jig also and also enjoy using that. I even use the router and plunge base freehand because i enjoy using it more than using my scrolling saber saw. Haven’t tried mortise and tenon joints, dove tails or any of that stuff but this tool sure makes me want to try!

The Bosch 1617 fixed-base router ALWAYS gets the job done. Set the collet and it stays. Wooden handles are comfortable and well placed. Unit is very durable.

I purchased the router because i am building two nice bookcases for my daughter and daughter-n-law. I needed to dado and create a bullet edge for the top surface. The router is easy to handle and never faltered. I am working with poplar, which is softer than oak, but so far I am not disappointed. It was on sale also and that didn’t hurt.

Quite powerful but compact. Purchased to use in my router lift mechanism since my other routerr was too large.

Just holding it in the hands makes me feel like I am holding a quality piece. Flip of the switch and that feeling continues. The wood flies as you engage. So far it is as i would expect from a Germany based company, and the Bosch Name.

I have had this router for almost 5 yrs. and it has been in a router table most of that time.I have made everything from small moldings to raised panels using 3 1/2 ” bits and a router speed control,This router has never let me down in anything I have tried to do with it.The power is there if and when you need it.Using it for cutting dovetails with a jig the wood handles on the base are comfortable and provide excellent control over the router.I would buy one again if I were to need a new one.
