I replaced my old dependable Router with the Bosch 1617EVS Router. Man what a difference 20 years makes. The Bosch Router is so smooth and easy to operate. I will be using this router for many projects and years to come! I do like the fact it has two Collet sizes for more adaption of use with new and different bits. This Router has sold me on Bosch woodworking tools.

I had a very old router on my table and it finally died on me. I looked at many routers and reviews before deciding on this router. Ive only had it about a two weeks and I am very impressed with the ease of set up and the micro adjustment. Love this router. Great quality and power.

I purchased my first one about a year ago. I loved it! I bought the Bosch Router Table so I put this in the router table and then purchased a 2nd to use when I couldn’t use the Router Table. I love the ease of changing the router bits, and I REALLY like that I can make micro adjustments from the top of my router table. I would love to give this 5 stars, but I took away one star for a problem I had with the router in my router table. Making large height adjustments is fairly easy from the bottom of the router table, but after a few months it was very difficult to move the router up or down. I always vacuum/blow out the dust from the router after each use, so I was fairly certain that wasn’t the problem. I took the router out of the table, and still had problems moving the motor in the base. I’m not sure what is causing that. It’s still under warranty so I sent it back for repair. I put the 2nd router in the router table and it works like a champ. This is the best router that I have ever had. I highly recommend it.

I just replaced my older router with this Bosch 1617EVS. It arrived on time and with no visible damage to packaging. I bought this router because of its variable speed and dual collette size. The instructions were fairly straight forward, but there was little, if any, information on changing out the collettes. My only compalints are the need for 2 wrenches to change bits and the difficulty in removing the motor from the base. It’s a very tight fit and requires a fair amount of force to remove and install. A carrying bag or case would also have been a good addition.

I just purchased this router a week ago based on personal research and some rave reviews from other users. Unfortunately, I have not had a chance to use the router to date so I cannot comment on its operation, etc. But, am anxious to do so.

This is a well built tool that features old school, but very comfortable wood knob grips.

Outstanding router! I bought it to use in a router table. Lots of power and perfect to pair with the Kreig table plate.

I use this router to mill metal. With the carbide endmill bit I use, it’s like cutting butter. I have no gripes with this router and I have used it pretty extensively and harshly.

Everything works well. All parts where present. The instruction manual was easy to understand. I’ve only used it for one trimming project and it worked well for that.

Just bought router especially for live edge coffee table I’m making. I was excited to get started on this project after year and half of waiting for slab to dry (and other priorities). Used it first day without any problems for an hour or two then it happened. I went to turn it on and nothing. checked the plug, yes plugged in. Fuses, breakers? everything check. Don’t tell me I have to send it back! Until I tried the switch one more time. Presto! Since it is brand new and I know its not a clogged rocker switch I’ll just make sure the switch ‘clicks’ all the way. The motor is very quiet with nice slow start. Still learning all the settings and adjustments. This is not my first router. I finally upgraded from a fixed speed craftsman router that won’t die. I found it hard to upgrade when I have a tool already. Can’t wait to mount on my router table and be able to use the top mount adjustment.

Also purchased router table mount. I have a custom router table and needed a router that adjusted vertically without “twisting” the motor in the housing. This one fit the bill and, bonus, has a top access micro adjustment! Never owned a Bosch router but seems to be well made. I’m impressed with the tight fit of motor in housing.

Love the power and adaptability of this tool. Fits great in my Rockler Router Lift. Great all around piece of equipment.

I bought the router 6 years ago and used it for several projects with great results. When the lower bearing failed I found the service almost impossible to find and when I did find it the parts were not available. I guess invented for life ends when the tool dies.
