I needed to cut a slot for the clamps to hold down a new kitchen sink. It worked perfectly!

I have several good Bosch tools and this one is good too. Three minor complaints…1. Bit changes are awkward – requires three hands to hold two wrenches and the bit.2. Two wrenches are included, but only one wrench fits. The other is useless. I had to go find another wrench.3. The aluminum insert in my router table has several holes for adjusting height, but none matched the Bosch configuration so I had to mark, drill and smooth a new hole.Otherwise no complaints. It will work fine.

I bought this last week at work. It was the only one of the 4 brands of routers we sell that could be adjusted from the top of the table. I found that the standard 3-hole mounting was not the same as the holes on my router table so I made a template and put holes in the table for mounting and access to the above table adjustment. My first use I found that the bit apparently vibrated loose and began rising up into my work. I may not have had it tightened enough but I reset it and re-tightened it and had no issues for the rest of that session.

Very nice router. I used for the first time today (3/17/19) to plane a 48″ X 24″ desk top I am building. I had to make 3 passes on top and bottom using a 2″ Bottom Cleaning bit. No power issues as all. Very smooth operation during the whole process.I know this is based on one use as this is my first time using – and it done well to start. So far – Happy.

Works as it should but arrived in the box with a collet stuck in the shaft without the chuck.

I bought this as a replacement for a router I wore out and can’t seem to repair (different brand).I purchsed this tool for it’s power and the fact that it has both 1/4″ and 1/2″ colletts and because it has high marks from users. While reading the Instructions, I learn that in order to properly align the base to the collett, an alignment tool is recommended. Really? It’s not included? Doesn’t seem optional to me. Also, dust collection aids are not included. More money out of pocket and I haven’t even applied power.

In my shop, it’s attached under a Bosch router table. It bolted to the table exactly as per the instructions, and it works flawlessly. The two wrenches make it easy to change bits. The height adjustment is easy to use, and accurate. A great tool for the money.

I bought a second one of these to use outside of my router table so I don’t have to keep moving the motor back and forth. I have been very happy with the Bosch router. Adjustable speed is great to have and the power of this motor will easily route even your toughest wood.

This is my first router, so this is a beginners intial review. I purchased the 1617EVS along with the RA1171 table. Everything matched up perfectly. The router seems to be stout and easy to operate. I’m feeling confident in choosing this router for my first.

Works great, easy install and perfect fit for Bosch Router Table 1181, really like the router lift that’s included, easy handling.

Works as good as my other two. This ones in my router table. Not as easy to mount but now that its there its a work horse. I love that this on is adjustable from the base with the provided wrench. I haven’t used the 1/4″ collet yet but it will be better than an adapter. I am running a paneling bit and a 3/4″ round over bit. No shortage of power or heating up.

Not only does the router have plenty of power to do almost any job but it has both 1/4″ and1/2″ collets included. I love the fact that it has an actual thumb wheel adjustment for the height adjustment and not just rotating the barrel. It allows for a much finer and accurate height adjustment. The soft start feature and thumb wheel speed adjustment make the router very easy to handle although it is a little on the heavy side to use for lighter jobs. I have used this for both making dovetail joints and on my router table and am very happy with how it performs.
