Have only set up with the fixed base on my Bosch router table, but can tell for me it is an excellent product and the plunge kit enhances performance. Worth it !!!!

Nice kit. So have only used it used it once and not yet the plunge adaptor, but it worked perfectly. Bought a low-price bit set to start. As I figure out which bits I use and wear them out, will replace with high quality bits.

Don’t get me wrong, love the router and will likely come to appreciate the table – in time.Table assembly took longer than it should have, kind of like putting together a BBQ. Screws, nuts, etc, in three unlabeled bags, some screws attached to nuts, others not. Separate, labelled bags would have cut assembly time in half. Instructions were clear, though. No difficulty leveling plate. The aluminum deck plate is quite rough to touch, as though unfinished. Got a good deal $319 for table, fixed and plunge bases, router, and hardcase, so really cannot complain too much!

So far I have only used this router (in the fixed base) attached to the Bosch aluminum top router table. I’ve made Shaker doors and drawer fronts for a kitchen with very good results. The router has plenty of torque at lower rpm (for the bigger tongue and grove bits) and it has a good range of speed adjustments to suite a wide range of bits and materials. The depth adjustments are nicely designed and capable of fine tuning in small increments. It also support depth adjustment from the bottom(Allen wrench included) for when mounted to a router table. The router came with both 1/4 and 1/2 inch collets. This router does not have a shaft lock so changing bits requires two wrenches(included). I have yet to use the plunge base but it also looks to be the same top quality as the rest. Unfortunately this kit does not come with a router edge guide. One is available but as a separate purchase. I’m tempted to take off one star for that reason(but I purchased it knowing it wasn’t included so I won’t). Over all, I am very happy with this tool.

I have a SMALL shop and thought I didn’t have room for a router table. I was wrong. This portable router table is just the thing for a small shop or a woodworker on the go. It collapses small enough to store in a wall cabinet in your garage or under your work bench. The top is big enough for the majority of tasks you need a router table for and has some well though out features like small parts storage in the legs, tabbed feet for easy clamping to your work surface, access for the included hex key to raise your bit without trying to look under the router table and dust collection that really works. It comes with most of the accessories your table needs like an assortment of throat rings, TWO feather boards, and a hex key with a good sized handle for raising/lowering your bit. I did find the plastic bit height indicator to be a little on the cheap side, but accurate enough for rough bit height adjustment (I fine tune with my calipers or machinist blocks). Likewise, the miter gauge is plastic, but good enough for guiding your work piece past the bit (I use a protractor to set the angle with the t-track slot).Mounting your router is easy…once you attach the provided plate to the base of your router. It is easy to change bits without having to remove your router as there is plenty or room below the tabletop and a wide enough hole with the throat rings removed to access your chuck with your wrenches. My shop vac connects to the dust collection port on the fence with no adapters needed AND it really works well to keep the table top clear. You will still get a lot of “man glitter” (wood dust) under the top and on your router. The handy front mounted safety switch makes it easy to start/stop your router and there is a spare outlet for connecting your shop vac.

It’s a Bosch. As expected it works wonderfully. The WOW factor – it is super quiet for a router. Using a freud 1/2 inch roundover bit I had to visually check to ensure I was actually cutting into the wood at times. Not super crazy about the wooden handles on the base but I put one hand on the router itself when cutting to stabilize (preference) so didn’t have an issue.Love it. I was also considering the milwaukee body grip. Perfectly happy with this Bosch and for $100 less. More than I really need for my garage hobbyist level wood working.
