I have the Bosch 3 1/4″ planer and have been very impressed with it. I had a Makita before – it was fine too – but this is a better machine. Better build, smoother operation and really helpful: the guide bevels for planing doors etc.It’s hard to tell from the picture if this is exactly the same 3 1/4″ model I have, but a planer with a fence that bevels is very useful.

I bought this tool after borrowing a friends 4 years ago. I have never had a proble with it. It adjusts easily to depth. On occasion the exhaust will plug with softer wood if you go too fast. You can’t go wrong!

it is a very nice portable planner, but i think when you pay that amount of money for the planner, it schould come with a carrying case.
