Bosch CM10GD 10 In. Dual-Bevel Glide miter saw delivers accuracy and cutting control at all angles, as well as durable precision throughout the life of the tool. The innovative Axial-Glide System provides wider cross-cuts, enhanced alignment and smoother glide, and the compact design takes up to 10 In. less front-to-back workspace than a slide miter saw. With a 15 Amp motor providing 4,800 no-load RPM, there is plenty of power. Adjustable miter and bevel detents enable users to make precise common miter and bevel cuts, and the override allows for easy angle adjustment. The bevel lock lever and range selector are located safely upfront so users don’t have to reach around behind the saw to make a bevel adjustment. The New Bosch GTA3800 features a jobsite-tough design with integrated wheels eliminating heavy lifting and giving the professional the ability to roll the saw anywhere. Rapid release universal tool mounts adapt to most competitors’ saws. The quick-release lock helps attach and detach the saw to/from stand with ease.

I have been chasing one of these saws for a while starting with a display I saw at a local store several years ago, it was a twelve inch model. A radical change from the norm of various incarnations of the tube rail slide is what caught my eye. I don’t like twelve inch saws for reasons I won’t bore you with here, and so I waited and bided my time, and sure enough they came up with a ten inch version. Considerably more RPM at the blade and overall rigidity is pretty good on the ten inch model. For a space saving stationary shop saw that won’t be getting thrown in the truck much, this is the saw to buy. Four star rating is for the fiddly adjustments out of the box that are required to get all the detents stopping true, and the cumulative flex in the various sections of the glide mechanism that add up to about a half degree either way. It is a Chinese built saw after all, no sense deluding ourselves about that. Be forewarned it is a heavy pig, and only a pound lighter than it’s bigger cousin.
