I bought this saw after my Milwaukee puked after 3 years . This saw is so much better than any circular saw I have ever owned, the 6400 rpm doesn’t bigat all. I have just finished my 3rd Butcher block top, and it blazes though 1-3/4″ hard maple. I have been using it for about six months and would recommend it to anyone.

I purchased this saw 1 year ago and I am very happy with it’s performance. It’s lightweight and has plenty of power to cut through the lumber that I use. I love the left side saw blade which gives a better sight line for cutting. The only complaint is the lack of a deflector for the exhaust port to prevent the saw dust from blowing all over you as you cut.

I’ve had this saw for years and it’s never let me down. It’s the only corded saw that I could find at the time with the blade on the left side, other than worm drive saws, those weigh a ton though. This saw is lightweight and a real pleasure to use.

Really like left blade circulars, own a skil hd5510 had it over ten years and still going strong, great thing about the hd5510 is a clear line of sight on both sides of the blade, given Bosch bought Skil, i thought they would have looked at the design on hd5510 and simply created a larger version with lighter materials. The small handle on the front of the saw obstructs line of sight on right side of blade, a handle i might add that is fairly useless, unless that is, u are left handed, in which case ur better off with a right sided blade saw(never understood current popularity of right bladed sidewinders, can’t see the line without stooping over saw and you cannot use a speed square as a guide, motor gets in way at end of cut). Table is of poor quality, especially if you look at the tables they have on the current CS10 and worm drive, which are ribbed-reinforced magnesium, with crisp sharp edges, very easy to run along a square, as opposed to aluminum which is prone to bend especially at end of cut; rear left of table flexes like crazy, and the edges are rounded. If you are cutting off anything less than an inch, you are obligated to cut with waste to your left given the instability of thin table edge to the left of blade, further obligating you to sight along right side of blade, but given the position of the aforementioned handle that is practically impossible. If the table were were a little stiffer and more stable, it wouldn’t be a problem. Also Dust chute blows all over you, and in your face if your trying to get a good look at your line. . .I had high hopes for this saw, but after using it for a week cutting 2×12 T&G spruce planking for a timber frame barn, i must say every day i was a bit further disappointed by it’s design. . . Great idea, poorly implemented.

I have used my Christmas gift many time already and I am both, pleased in the quality, and impressed with the ergonomics, safety features, and how durable (I will test it!).

The left bladed saw was what I expected. I’ve gotten used to left bladed cordless saws for trim work, but cordless doesn’t have enough power for ripping. The 15 amp motor has enough power to rip a treated 3/4 ply panel. I am disappointed that the edge guide was not a part of the saw. Every other saw that I have purchased included the guide and the hold-down screw. I guess money is tight all over, even for tool makers. In the tool makers defense, I tried to use saws that had been used on construction sites. None of them come back to the shop with the edge guide. I think that is due to one person who should be using an axe instead of a saw. If I could just find where he is throwing the guides.

Fast, accurate, well-priced, excellent visibility on the cut line. Needs electric brake and a tool bag in the future versions.

Good saw, light weigh, does same job as Mac 77 But half price cheaper. Thinking of getting one more

I wish this saw came with a carrying case. Other Bosch equipment has a case. Why not this one?

It performs as expected. The saw is sturdy but not to heavy. Good construction. Like all Bosch tools, a great choice.

I knew this saw was worth buying after I made my first two cuts with it. It has amazing power, and is very precise. I had to adjust to using a left sided saw on my first cut, but after the second I was positive I had purchased an excellent tool. I used to always try to cut in a position that I would be able to clearly see my line. It doesnt make sense to switch boards around or dance around my sawhorses trying to see. I will never have to waste time moving around or leaning over my saw again. The only thing I absolutely hate about the saw is that it does not have any sort of carrying case. I really think it should have come with something considering it wasn’t a cheap saw. I don’t like having to worry about where I store it in my work van. If it had a nice plastic case I would never have to think twice about where I put it. If it were a junk saw I wouldn’t care if it got a little dinged up because I wouldn’t expect it to last anyway. A saw of this caliber absolutely needs a case.

I have been using this saw for about a year now. Great power and stability. Doesn’t get slowed down by thick hardwoods. Only negative is the mechanism to adjust the foot could be a bit sturdier and simpler to use.

very good saw. only complaint is it throws lots of dust on you while cutting

I love the power of this saw – definite upgrade for me – Love the left hand blade so I can see the blade. I hate the fact that it blows the sawdust all over me. Not the ground. Me. Oh well. Worth it for the price and power but would like a dust collection attachment.

Powerful. Well built from quality materials. Typical Bosch.

I love the saw, but your covered with saw dust after using. The exhaust lets the saw dust blow back on user. It is a powerful saw and great to use

Heavy, but a great saw

I had a regular, cheaper circular saw and wanted to upgrade it. The CS5 made great sense so I now have saws with blades on both sides depending on what I’m cutting and what makes sense ! The blade provided was also excellent. It’s a solid machine with a rugged base.

The left blade is really nice to use. works very well and has plenty of power for my home needs. All around affordable and quality saw.
