I’ve been using left blade circular saws for about 12 years now &, being right-handed, I will never go back to a right blade. I’m the ground man on a residential construction crew & have cut nearly every board & sheet of plywood for many homes & additions. This saw has excellent power & balance. The price cannot be beat. It tips easily to 56° which is a much welcomed improvement over my last Porter-Cable. I have just 2 small gripes. It shoots the dust directly at your pants & the lock-down for blade depth should be between the blade guard & the handle. It’s awkward to lock the blade with your left hand while holding the saw in your right. This is why I gave it just 4 stars.

Can a saw be sporty? That’s how this feels to me when I’m using it. It’s pretty basic as far as features and it’s also very well thought out. I do wish it had the same baseplate and positive detents on depth and angle adjustments as the CS10 but those are not in any way a hinderance to the saw. Everything seems to be in just the right place with the controls and handles. A left blade saw for right hand user is a really nice feature for the way I cut. In fact, I sometimes hold right blade saws left handed when using them for cuts. I don’t have any problems with the dust chute blowing dust onto me because I happen to stand behind where it blows on shorter cutting situations and I stand directly to the side of the saw in longer ripping and crosscutting situations such as making cuts on sheet goods and then the dust blows more behind me. Either way, it blows the dust more downward than most saws I’ve used.

Very happy with saw so far (only got it 3 weeks a go)– very powerful–wished it came with a case or bag.Saw dust port is a pain but a piece of tape over the hole solved that. No blade brake on saw but my old saw didn’t have one either so I’m used to being extra carefull.
