I LOVE this saw. It is light weight, powerful, and left-blade. Being right handed, it makes it very easy to see where the cut line is. But….to give it 5 stars, they need to add a blade brake. If you squeeze the trigger and let go, it takes 10 seconds for the blade to stop spinning. It has a huge, very functional blade guard that works great, but the blade brake would be a great addition.

The depth change lever is easy to use, and I like the thick shoe plate.

Great saw. But Saw dust chute dumps dust in to your shoes

I was given this saw as a gift, about a year ago and fell in love with the first cut. I’m a left handed person. There are so little left handed power tools for us. Bosch made this saw with me in mind. I can see the mark that I’m cutting with out having to look over the saw or look at the backside of the saw, I get straight clean cut every time. The best part is how powerful the motor is, 15 amp. 6200 rpm, yeah that’s what I’m talking about. I have not bogged down the saw yet. The Milwookie or something named like that, this one replaced could not cut 3/4 ABX without slowing the blade down to almost a dead stop, it was only 9 months old before it burned it’s self out. The warranty is outstanding and best of all it weights less than 14 lbs. Much better than my old one. Fits almost all 7 1/4 inch blades, holds its own blade wrench. Soft handle so you can cut all day without sore hands. Anti snag lower guard, makes beveled cuts. What can I say they made it with me in mind, being left handed and all. Yes I love my saw.

I will say that I returned this saw for one reason, it’s a lefty and I could not get used to it. But it cut square, it cut square angles (I think people just don’t know that 0 is not where you start, you start at a 45° angle) just saying. But I think it’s a better saw than CS10 (less plastic, ruler on base frame, the little things. But it was lefty. If you are used to lefty I highly recommend this saw if not save 20 bucks and get the dewalt DWE575 99.00. Or spend a little more and get the Bosch CS10 which I had to square out of the box but it’s perfect now and right side.

I bought this a month ago and still haven’t used it. However, since it is Bosch I will assume that it is amazing like everything they make.

bought the left hand blade as I was tired of missing cuts on plywood using right handed blade with my left hand, does the job just fine

Very good and powerfull saw, for right-handed people you can see what you cutting. I’m very happy with it.

Really like left side blade, much easier to see the cut. It does throw sawdust on your leg. Handles well, not too heavy. Good power.

Fortunately Bosch hasn’t forgotten about the blade-on-left, corded, non-worm drive market. The C5 has all the important features of my old Porter Cable 743 it’s replacing: well-balanced, powerful, not too heavy or bulky, and easy-to-use adjustments (including spindle lock & guard retractor). The steel base should withstand rough-handling better than cast bases that tend to crack & break. This saw should easily last a good number of years. That it doesn’t come with a case is fine for me. I use a tool bag big enough to comfortably fit the saw & cord, several blades, safety goggles, spare (1/2″) blade wrench, etc.
