Daredevil spade bits are designed for professional users seeking speed, ease of use and hole quality. A full-cone threaded tip pulls the bit through the material with less effort and vibration than other spade bits. The contoured paddle delivers faster chip removal, hex shank with power groove reduces slippage. Up to 10X faster than conventional spade bits.
- Full-cone threaded tip for fast drilling
- Spur and reamer provide cleaner holes
- 14-piece set includes the following bits: 1/4 in., 3/8 in., 1/2 in., 9/16 in., 5/8 in., 11/16 in., 3/4 in., 13/16 in., 7/8 in., 1 in., 1-1/8 in., 1-1/4 in., 1-3/8 in. and 1-1/2 in.

These bits are incredible. They bore quickly, although without the cleanest start and definitely not a clean finish. With a little finese, a cleaner hole can be accomplished by slowing down the feed and entering from both sides. I use the 3/4″ and larger for drilling holes through 2X material to run pipes and wire. The only down side with these aggressive bits is that they need torque…and lots of it with the larger sizes. My Dewalt will only bore with the 7/8″ and smaller bits. To bore with the 1″ bit and larger, I use my Rigid 3/8″ drill or my Milwaukee hole shooter. I just make sure that I hold on tightly. Both these drills have a lot of torque (especially the Milwaukee), and when the bit hits a tough spot, the bit nor the drill is gonna give. That only leaves my wrist to take the hit.I’ve sinced purchase three more of these sets: one for my son, one for my son-in-law, and a second one for myself. I’ve abandoned my Irwin set that I thought was the best out there. And my craftsman set sits lonley on its perch above my work bench. The only time I use my auger bits is when I need to bore through something thicker than 5 or 6 inches. Not only are these Bosch bits a timesaver, but they also save me so much energy, particularly in the hot summer months. I actually look forward to boring holes through 2X material, challenging myself to see how fast I can get the job done.

Quick to eat and start drilling. Drilling through 4″x4″ posts was quick and clean.

This spade-drill set made quick, easy work of installing new latch hardware in a wooden door-jam.

Clean holes in soft wood that needed only minor ‘dressing’ prior to painting. Very quick fix.

Bit set is well worth every penny…easy to use, works faster then any bits I ever had, been a DIY and Professional H V A C tech for longer then I care to admit. And have completed more repairs on more homes and commercial properties and these bits blow all my other sets out of the water, hands down the best set of bits I’ve owned in a long time. Bosch is a well known Company and tool manufacture,r respected by Pros and tool guys for years. So if your in the market for a new set get your hands on these.

I’ve used daredevil bits for about a year and they work great. Tips hold up well, they drill fast and make clean holes. The big 1.5″ size bits are a challenge and tend to catch as holes finish out but 1.25″ and smaller have been very good.

This set replaced a 9 piece set I bought a few years ago at a higher price. I loved that set, but I couldn’t pass up the extra bits that came with this set.

This was bought as a gift for my husband. He’s very happy with the set and says they preform as expected. It was exactly what he needed.

i’ve been in the construction industry for close to 35 years. the through hole capabilities of the bits are clean as close tio exact as you need for their design and application

Have only tried one bit. The auger pulled the bit into the wood, but it tore the 2×4 face as it went in. I’ll need to keep that in mind going forward. It could have been a fluke. Too soon to really know. Nice to have so many hole diameters to choose from.

What a neat find. I wasn’t really looking for new spade bits but when I saw this complete set at Home Depot I just couldn’t resist. I already had a few of the shorter Daredevil bits so I already knew how well they worked. My existing set of longer spade bits were dull and some sizes were missing. Plus I didn’t have a 14 piece set in the first place. The self contained pouch is handy too so I don’t jab my fingers when the drill bit set ends up at the bottom of the tool bucket.

I am using these nicely tempered bits in a very special and uncommon application. I am carefully drilling through sheets of high impact poly-styrene plastic from the rear of a delicate scale model (from rear to front)[(inside to outside]. The bits performed perfectly against a hardwood backing block. I am glad they were available at such a reasonable price. Thumbs up on these.

As others have said they are very aggressive. I drilled a 1 1/4 hole in a 2 by 10 for some water pipe, no backer board – when it reached the last part of the hole it grabbed and just about pulled the drill out of my hand. I was using a cordless 20V drill set on the low speed. It got the job done quickly, just expect the grabbing. I need to try smaller sizes to see if it is better. Overall a great set and nice holder for the money.

This Bosch Wood Spade Set with Roll Case is very handy, complete, and an excellent large hole cutting tool size grouping. They cut very fast compared to the standard style and almost as good as the spiral type. The soft fabric case is one of the best I have seen with a tool set ( the only fault might be in trying to close the velcro strap; it is impossible unless you VERY tightly roll the case while barely getting the velcro to make a full grip). I would recommend it to anyone making varying large wood holes with convenient storage in display and space saving. A must for a traveling wood worker, too.

I bought these to use with my arm-powered brace, but in the end I used a Makita cordless drill to make a couple of holes at 1-1/8″ and some at 3/4 ” and 1/2″ in some Red Oak. These bits cut very fast and they have very powerful cutting edges to them. I would caution anyone who buys these to use a slower speed because the blades can get caught up and jammed in biting a big chunk of wood as it drills down, resulting in a powerful counter-torque to the user’s wrist or the work piece getting twisted out of it’s clamping devices. They are also capable of stopping the drill if the drill motor doesn’t have enough torque to keep it turning at higher speeds. The large amount of torque required makes it difficult to control the drill’s direction such that the resulting hole is not always straight and true. It’s like holding a tiger by its tail and not for casual drilling of holes. I think that the more conventional paddle bits, while not as fast as the Bosch bits, would be a lot easier to control. Otherwise, these bits are amazingly fast and efficient.

The “full-cone threaded tip” feature of these bits makes for easy, accurate starting of a hole cut. Having used round shank spade bits before, these hex-shank bits will not slip in a 18v cordless drill chuck making the human wrist the weak link in the powertrain… better have a firm grip on that drill and cut slow and steady or risk wrist torqueing/whacking. I like having the 13-bits, ranging from ¼” to 1.5” diameter, securely stored in a compact, durable, and flexible Cordura pouch that keeps these sharp bits protected and together.
