The bit engaged in the wood with the screw starter portion and the impact driver dit it’s magic in delivering the power. I provided little muscle and the bit easily chewed through the old hardened wooden studs. I would highly recommend this quality product which came in at a very competitive price

The Daredevil line of spade bits are the best spade bits available. You have never used a bit as effortless as these. Once you use these, you’ll throw out the others. There are “stubby” versions available as well, for drilling in tight spaces or when depth isn’t a concern.The only other thing I’d recommend, is that you purchase a pack with more bits in it.

I like these short bits for two reasons; first, the screw on the end make drilling easy, as it pulls the bits into the wood, making drilling much easier. Secondly, the short size allows me to get in between studs when needed, and if I need a longer hole drilled, I just chuck these into an extension.I use a Dewalt 20v impact drill for all my drilling, which I highly recommend. The impact function drives these bits in quickly with little torque feel. It’s quick to plug and unplug these bits and the extension when needed, so drilling is fast.

I bought this set for the occasional times that my standard-length Daredevil bits won’t fit somewhere. These are 1-1/2″ shorter overall than the standard length, and protrude just 3-1/2″ beyond the face of my impact’s chuck, to the tip of the spur.The Daredevil bits are fast, aggressive bits, and do require a powerful drill to run them, particularly in the larger diameters. They are awesome in both my brushless 1/2″ hammer drill and impact driver. Highly recommended!

I use these with the Bosch ADS181 angle drill for tight spots. These have just the right amount of aggressiveness to be paired with that drill. I use these bits in all sizes and lengths.I wish Home Depot sold the 6-piece stubby set with the soft case in the store.
