The Bosch GCL100-40G Green Beam Self-Leveling Cross-Line Laser with Plumb Points uses green-beam technology, which emits green lines and points up to 4X brighter than standard red beams. This gives the laser a working range for the lines of up to 165 Ft. The laser produces vertical, horizontal, cross-line modes, as well as upward and downward green plumb points. The tool can project two lines independently or together, for a broad array of alignment and leveling applications. It includes Bosch-exclusive VisiMax™ technology, which monitors tool temperature and power consumption to deliver the brightest line for the job. The tool has full rubber overmold housing, designed to be similar to a roll cage, so every major impact point is reinforced with rubber. It is an IP64 rating, and features deeply recessed windows help protect the laser glass. The onboard user interface allows easy selection among the layout modes. The Bosch Smart Pendulum System self-levels and indicates out-of-level condition, and it locks the pendulum for secure transport. The included RM10 Rotating Mount offers quick setup, extra-strong magnets, and fine adjustment rotating nob.

SUMMARY: A GREAT IMPROVEMENT OVER MY PREVIOUS LASER LEVELS.BACKGROUND: I have had several laser levels of the years. The chance to replace my 10-year-old red laser with a newer green one was too good to pass up.FIT AND FINISH: I have a few Bosch tools, and this carries their same quality. The laser appears well-made and the case seems very sturdy.DESCRIPTION: This item is not yet listed on the Home Depot page. The following description, and the list of features are from the Bosch product page, edited and with my comments as appropriate.• The Bosch GCL100-40G Green Beam Self-Leveling Cross-Line Laser with Plumb Points uses green-beam technology, which emits green lines and points up to 4X brighter than standard red beams. This gives the laser a working range for the lines of up to 165 Ft. o I have never needed 165 ft range, but at night it shot an easily visible beam 100 feet to my back fence, and I could see the vertical beam on trees well over 175 feet away. (P.s. the trees were not plumb!)• The laser produces vertical, horizontal, and cross-line modes, as well as upward and downward green plumb points. The tool can project two lines independently or together, for a broad array of alignment and leveling applications. o There is a mode button on the top that cycles through the 4 modes.• It includes Bosch-exclusive VisiMax™ technology, which monitors tool temperature and power consumption to deliver the brightest line for the job. • The tool has full rubber overmold housing, designed to be similar to a roll cage, so every major impact point is reinforced with rubber. o The case is beefy. • It carries an IP64 rating and features deeply recessed windows help protect the laser glass. o IP64 rating means the device is protected from total dust ingress. Protected from water spray from any direction. But not waterproof.• The onboard user interface allows easy selection among the layout modes. o The button on the top cycles through the modes• The Bosch Smart Pendulum System self-levels and indicates out-of-level condition, and it locks the pendulum for secure transport. o I have had other lasers with pendulum systems which see to work well. When the lazer starts to go out of level the beams flash, but only for a few seconds. I would prefer the beams to continue flashing as long as the laser is not plumb.• The included RM10 Rotating Mount offers quick setup, extra-strong magnets, and fine adjustment rotating knob.o Bosch offers a wide variety of laser mounts. The RM10 mount is two pieces. The laser mounts via a horizontal slide onto the main bracket with a vertical magnet attachment. This mount has a transverse adjustment to swivel the beams as needed. I found this very handy as I could pop the bracket anywhere on a vertical metal surface, like one of my metal storage sheds, my metal shelves, or a metal wall stud. The main bracket can be mounted to a second piece that has a nail hook on one end, and a drop-ceiling clamp mount on the other end. The second bracket also has a vertical adjustment knob. I did find that the vertical adjustment mechanism was not tight enough and easily rolled downward with the slightest touch on the adjusting knob. I’m afraid it might drop down if it is subject to vibration. • The kit includeso GCL100-40G Green-Beam Self-Leveling Cross-Line Laser with Plumb Pointso RM10 Rotating Mounto (4) AA Batterieso Hard Carry Case I like the hard case as it is much more protective of the equipment than my previous soft cased lasers.• Secure laser transport – after switching off, pendulum is lockedo This explains the rather large sliding power switch.• Battery gauge – features a three-LED indicator for battery managementOPERATION: The laser is easy to mount and use. The sliding power switch turns the beam(s) on and off and the mode switch cycles through the beam combinations. When using the magnetic mount, it is best to get the bracket as close to plumb as possible to ensure the pendulum can move freely. It is fairly easy to see the pendulum leveling itself. You can shoot off-level reference beams but need an angle gauge to determine the offset.SUMMARY: A definite improvement over my previous laser levels. I can’t wait to actually use it.PROS: Study, bright, easy to use.CONS: Vertical adjustment seems a little loose.

The Bosch self leveling green line laser is a great tool for a bunch of different tasks. The green beam is nice and bright and easily seen on different types of materials. It great for doing trim work like, chair rail, cabinets and so on. It perfect for getting pictures hung at the same level, outlets and switches etc. at the same level height. The laser comes in a great fitted hard case. It runs on 4 AA batteries which it does come with. The unit also comes with a hanging bracket, and stand. The bracket features s nice rack and pinion gear to adjust the height you want it at very easily and precise with fine movment

The Bosch self leveling green laser level is a nice step up from my old red laser that has started to fail. The green is so much easier to pick up in any ambient light. It jumps gaps better than my previous level as well. It is easy to operate with one good size on/off switch on the side and a single mode button on top. I like the flash warning it gives when it is more than 4 degrees from level. Sometimes you know you are angled and sometimes it is too close to eyeball. This takes the guess work out.It has four (4) operating modes: cross line and point (horizontal and vertical lines); horizontal; vertical; and point mode (2 vertical points).The base is threaded to allow it to be used on a tripod. The magnetic attachment holds securely, yet is easy to remove when you are done. The micro adjustment wheel on the magnetic and clamp mounts are smooth and easy to operate. They offer a wide range of adjustments. You can also hang it from a nail on the wall when using the mounts.The case is well done too. Everything fits nicely, but you can get them out without a fight. It has holders for spares or if you don’t leave the batteries in the laser level between uses. The clasp on the case is metal and the case is drilled for a small lock.If you need to replace a level or buy your first one, this is a good choice.

Love this Bosch 165 ft. Self-Leveling Green Combination Laser Level. We leveled pictures and new French Doors. It comes in a great case to store the parts. Batteries are included. Works great and has a a strong magnet. It also includes a ceiling mount. It’s self leveling. Shows great line and points. I love Bosh products and this is one more I have added to my collection.

Bosch model GCL-100-40G is a green laser capable of a working range of 100 feet. I found set up to be very easy because of the self-leveling feature. This laser has four operating modes, Cross-line and point, Horizontal, Vertical and Point only mode. It has an accuracy of +- 1/8” over 30 feet. It is powered by 4 AA batteries that will allow the laser to power on for 120 minutes before automatically turning off to save battery life. This feature can be deactivated by holding down the mode button for at least 3 seconds. The laser has a ¼” threaded tripod mount. The kit comes equipped in a nice blow molded protective carry case along with a strong magnetic mounting base and ceiling clip that can be clamped or hung by a screw.

BOSCH delivers a winner with this level. I love that it has multiple mode settings so that you can use the laser at either a vertical or horizontal beam or both simultaneously. To add, there is even a beam for above and below of the level. Its incredibly easy to use and will come in handy hanging while hanging pictures at angles or level across a wall. Its limitless of what it can be used for. I even used it to add a new wall outlet even with the others in my new shed. It fits perfect onto a tripod that can add extra positioning with ease or you can even hang it. Its versatile and makes any job easier if you need alignment and accuracy. Definitely recommended! I’m a DIY’er and love that I have this now to use with home projects!

This laser kit has everything you could ever want. There is a magnetic base that is included and fully adjustable for angles. Then there is a fully adjustable bracket that allows you to attach the magnetic base to it and now you have up and down and left and right full adjustments for fine tuning your line. I used it to do a new metal track ceiling in a 40×40 room and it worked flawlessly. The laser light use GREEN and worked incredible on Every colored surface and was very easy to follow. I highly recommend it.

LEVEL UP with the Bosch 165 ft. Self-Leveling Green Combination Laser Level! First impression: Quality! The level comes in a very nice carrying case for protection of the sensitive equipment. The laser unit is constructed of thick plastic and sports a rubber reinforced housing that protects all of the impact points. The laser glass is recessed, so along with the rubber housing I feel this will last on a job site and not easily succumb to some rough treatment. In addition to the carrying case, this level comes with an RM10 Mount, a Ceiling clip attachment, and four AA batteries. The R10 Mount is attached to the level with groves and strong magnets. The mount features a fine adjustment wheel for precision measuring. The level is “self-leveling” and rated IP64 for dust and water protection. The lines are very bright and crisp even at a distance. The approximate visual range of the green laser level is 100 ft. If you have an optional receiver, the distance increases to 165 ft. The projected Accuracy Lines are precise at +/- 1/8 inch and Accuracy Points only +/- 9/32 inch! I like the sturdy tripod connection on the underside; just another option for mounting. It is very nice to have a laser level that allows you to do horizontal, vertical, cross-line, and plumb lines at the touch of the single MODE button on top. I also appreciate the battery level indicator in a prominent location next to the Mode button. The On/Off switch is large and easily found on the left side of the unit. This level should handle most of your leveling needs. Made in China.

This green laser level is bright, much brighter than my previous red laser model. It is easy to see outside. The laser level comes with a case and rotating mount. The mount is either a clip attachment or magnetic and also has a tripod thread. After mounting it is easy to adjust up and down and rotation with the mounting base. I like how easy it is to switch between the horizontal, vertical and plumb point modes. The laser unit is also protected by rubber on all sides so will stand up to the daily bumps.

This is a top notch laser leveling and marking device. It has lots of features I didn’t know I was missing on my basic laser level. First of all it is self leveling once you get it close. That is for horizontal and vertical lines. It will project a dot straight up or a plumb line across the ceiling. You can do intersection or level lines around the wall. It does it all.It comes with several mounts to make it even more versatile. It clips into a magnetic mount and even has a know on the side that allows you to rotate it to get it into the perfect position. It has a tripod mount and a clip-on mount as well.The green beam is much easier to see and the 165 projection distance will more than cover anything I ever need to do. I completely recommend this for anyone that does layout work.

This is probably the most amazing electronic instrument I have ever owned. I am just beginning to learn the many wars the laser level can be operated and used. With its powerful green laser it can easily be seen in bright daylight in doors or outdoors. As a past commercial interior designer some 20 years ago if I had a product like this I know I could have saved probably dozens of hours lining up pictures, art and décor and also fixtures. The laser comes contained within a heavy duty plastic case, with strong latching buckle with the Bosch name on it. The tool comes complete with 1 RM10 Mount, 1 ceiling clip attachment, and 4 AA batteries to start. On the technical data end, the visible range is 100 ft. Accuracy +/- 1/8″ @ 30 ft. Accuracy points are +/- 9/32″ @ 30 ft. The mounting thread for a tripod is 1/4″-20.The laser features self leveling, dust and water protection, can receive information, the base has magnets to place on a wall. The base gives fine tune adjustments with knobs, and the housing has been reinforced with a heavy duty casing. This combination laser can be used for plum, electrical, picture, cabinetry, window, flooring, or wall measuring applications. It is overall, an excellent laser, easy to use, and easy to store or carry with you.Bosch is a leader in laser levels, and this model is no exception. Easy to set up. Easy to use. Accurate. Outstanding little laser. Its small, compact, powerful and very simple to use. I like the fact that it comes with a nice little base so you can rotate it for precision adjustments. Has a nice mounting plate for drop ceiling installations. Has multiple beam patterns. Feels durable. I didnt try but I think it can mount onto a standard tripod and not a standard transit tripod. Has a great case to hold the thing in and also a battery storage area so you can remove the batteries if you dont plan on using it for a while. Great great product
