The Bosch GCL 2-160 self-leveling cross-line laser with plumb points delivers all-in-1 versatility, with highly visible lines and points that can be turned on independently or together for horizontal level, vertical level and plumb transfer applications. This laser has a visible range of 65 ft. The receiver mode allows it to work with an optional Bosch line laser receiver (LR 6 or LR 7) for a working range of up to 165 ft. It features VisiMax technology, which monitors power consumption to maximize line visibility and extend battery life. The smart pendulum system self-levels with an accuracy of up to plus/minus 4°, and it indicates out-of-level condition. The manual mode locks lines for use at any angle by just switching the tool on in locked mode. Robust over-molded construction – IP54 ensures splash water/dust protection for years of dependable operation. It comes with the RM 1 magnetic rotating mount that rotates 360° and includes a ceiling grid clip for use in ceiling-grid applications. The kit includes a hard carrying case for easy storage and transport.

This laser level has a bright enough laser light to work well in most indoor applications. I used it while installing a new overhead garage door opener in my son’s new home. It was fine while we had the door closed, but it was a very bright sunny (and un-Godly hot) day and when we needed to open the door, the line faded to nothing in some areas of more direct light.The big downside to a tool this expensive was that the base mounting plate had no “Zero Mark” to align the Laser Level with the baseplate (which has a very nice and smooth operating rotation feature). This means that, while the lines on the wall directly in front of the laser will be absolutely vertical and horizontal (plumb and level) the line as it bends onto the ceiling from vertical may go at an angle. A simple alignment mark would be useful. Also a rotating hanger clip and the alligator clip for the hanger mount would be nice. But in all, it is a good device, just don’t expect it to be an amazing tool for the price.

Excellent product for a novice or pro. A rookie will advance their abilities quickly with a tool that won’t need to be replaced as their skill set improves. A pro already know what to do and this product is simple to use. Changing from self level to off is overly easy, as is changing the modes of function.High recommend. I was gonna grab a lower grade model, but really couldn’t pass up on the functionality of this model or the price.
