The Bosch GCL 2-160 S Self-Leveling Cross-Line Laser with Plumb Points includes a tool with all-in-1 versatility. It generates a cross-line and 2-highly visible laser points. These can be turned on independently or together for horizontal level, vertical level and plumb transfer applications. The highly visible lines give this laser a visible range of 65 ft. The receiver mode allows it to work with an optional Bosch laser receiver (LR 6 or LR 7) for a working range of up to 165 ft. The laser has VisiMax Technology, which monitors power consumption to maximize line visibility and extend battery life.

The unit I received shouldn’t be called reconditioned, used would be more accurate. It was cleaned up well but has scratches and gouges, maybe from being dropped. If they didn’t fix the outside damage, I can’t trust the internals.

This is a reconditioned laser, but looks brand new. It does exactly what I need for layout whether it is in the point mode (single dot plumb and level), or line mode (continuous horizontal and vertical “chalk line”), locks if you need to set a line at any angle (laying out the top of a stair stringer on a wall, for example), switches between modes easily, will clip onto wall angle for grid ceilings with a included clamp, and has an included magnetic mount for attachment to a column. The price was unbeatable, as I checked around a number of sites as well as local suppliers.

Rugged, good maneuverability. Indoor visibility tends to depend on surfaces. Light colors show red lines better than brown flooring which is very faint at 20ft.

I purchased this for setting tile. I initially was looking at a model 3x times the prices (green), but could justify it. This model kept coming up as a great model. Then when I found the refurbished for less than $100 I took the plunge. This model is perfect for interior use. At times the laser get washed out over long distances when heavily lit. That’s where a green laser is better. For my use inside all I need to do is turn down the light. It is completely meeting my needs. Now that I have it, I can’t see living without it. I keep finding uses for it (hanging pictures, tile and general remodel).

Haven’t used it much yet, but the laser is very visible and it looks to allow flexibility to do multiple jobs depending how you position it. Horizontal and vertical lines, as well as vertical dots up/down for just about any job. Auto level. Attachment accessories should be useful. Nice tool.
