The Bosch GKF125CE Colt variable-speed palm-grip router puts routing power and precision in the palm of your hand. The GKF125CE has an ergonomic palm-grip design with soft grip to make it very comfortable to hold, making it typically easier to use than larger routers, yet it also has ample power with a 1.25 HP Maximum rating. It’s far more than a just a laminate trimmer, as it is the ideal tool for putting round-overs on deck railings, mortising for hinges, slot cutting and much more. The motor features soft-start, a variable-speed control and Constant Response circuitry to maintain speed under load. Its PR101 fixed base features macro- and micro-fine depth adjustment and a center able round subbase for easy guidance. The GKF125CEK Kit includes a self-releasing 1/4 in. collet chuck, comfortable forged collet wrench, edge guide and a case.

Works great. Used it for mortising hinges and trimming some casings. The LED lighting is very helpful and so was the straight-edge guide. The micro-adjustment wheel should have a “+” and a “-” sign beside it in order to indicate which way to turn for increasing or decreasing the depth. I easily remedy to this small omission by adding my own signs with a permanent marker.

Router is easy to use, the course/fine adjustment is very intuitive. It’s way more powerful than a palm router needs to be but I’m not complaining. Takes a 3/4″ straight flute cut like it’s not even there.

This is the palm router I should have started with. The soft start this bosch starts with makes sure you actually have control of you tool before you push to it’s maximum horsepower. You also have fewer ports allowing the sawdust to wearout your tool. This Bosch is a recommended trim router for anyone who needs a clean clear and crisp finish line.

Here is a quality tool that is comfortable to use, yet powerful enough to handle the project. For edge or decorative work this will do the job in a small package. It has adjustable height by a unique lock that is easily applied and can be fine adjusted as well.The 1/4″ router bits are easily changed with the locking spindle and provided wrench.The viewing area is well lit with the built in LED light which provides plenty of visibility when working.
