The Bosch GKF125CEPK Colt 1.25 HP (Max) Variable-Speed Palm Router Combination Kit pairs a tool that lets you feel the power in your hand with a fixed base and a plunge base. The GKF125CEPK has an ergonomic palm-grip design with soft-grip. It has ample power, with a 1.25 HP (max) rating. Far more than a laminate trimmer, it is the ideal tool for rounding-over railings, hinge mortising, decorative edge forming and more, as well as laminate trimming. The motor features soft-start circuitry, a variable-speed dial and Constant Response circuitry. Its fixed base features macro- and micro-fine depth adjustment and a centerable round subbase. The plunge base features a Precision Centering Design to keep the bit on the cut line, as well as a spring-lock plunge lever depth rod with fine adjustment. The quick-clamp system allow user to move the motor to move from base to base. The kit includes straight-edge guide and a carrying case.

The blunge base is also easy to setup and provides perfect accuracy with its easy to use fine tune adjustment. The hard shell plastic case is well made and should hold up well long term.

I have been buying Bosch tools for 20+yrs, I researched this router it got good reviews. I build custom guitars, ukuleles & furniture. This router kit is nice because it has both plunge & fixed bases, The first thing I noticed is the led light, it’s a nice feature however I don’t like that the light comes on as soon as you plug the router in?? I don’t understand why it’s not wired to the power switch? The plunge base is a bit tough to get used to it’s not very smooth. The fixed base is nice & has a nice micro adjustment.

This is a great small router. I had a Bosch Colt palm router for many years, and was ecstatic when they released a plunge base for it. I recently gave that router and base to my daughter, and replaced it with this version. I am very pleased with this router. It has a bit more power, and is much easier to adjust the cutting depth. The fact that this one was available in a kit with the plunge base made it a no-brainer choice.

I have had the opportunity to use the router a few times. The power is right for the size. I have arthritis and cancer. I was able to to control the router due to the grip and location of on/off switch. My only compliant is wish accessories sold with 1HP came with 1.25. Kudos to HD with shipping

I really like this router. It is so easy to use and adjust depth. And it’s not “little”. Its beefy, weighty and powerful…all positive things in my opinion. Very happy with my purchase. For the past decade I’ve been using a Rigid palm router. It has served me well but the collet started slipping. I didn’t know collets supposedly wear out. I replaced it’s collet and it still slipped, even with a new carbide bit. And the Rigid had done that before. I think the problem is a cheesy, one slot collet design. The Bosch has a multi-slot collet which affords a more effective bit shank grip. No slipping with the Bosch.
