Bought this to level out a floor but it really is only useful for small jobs. The 30ft distance in the dark may be good but you will shell out a hundred bucks more for the one you can see in broad daylight. The only recourse is to do this in the late afternoon to nights to actually see the line. I can see why this is more of a value laser light especially when it’s on a sale price. The included mount is super useful on hanging it from a pole, any pole will do. It is super bright up to about 10 ft, after that it levels off. If the area does not have any day light you can see pretty well to 20ft. I would say 30ft is a stretch. If you need something stronger shell out for the GCL2-160 but do not be warned for the sticker shock. Too bad Bosch doesn’t have anything more powerful for the layman DIYer.

Used for suspended ceiling. I could see the beam on one full and a partial on the two adjacent walls. Out of caution, I set up to see the fourth wall, and everything was level. The price I paid on sale was about $40. Much cheaper than a rotating laser level, especially for a one time job. BTW I’m a musician, so I used a microphone stand to get the height for the laser.

Great little laser line level for the money. I used it yesterday to set the top of my first row of tiles for a tub surround. The self- leveling is great- you don’t have to worry that it might have been bumped out of level. If the line is still on your benchmark you’re good to go.

I am on the fence on recommending this. It does work, including the self-leveling. However, it can be a little frustrating to use. Every time you jostle it just a little the laser will go nuts for a while until they find level again. If you are trying to line up the laser with a mark, this can be a little frustrating. Move it slightly, then wait for it to calm down. Keep doing this until it is good. Maybe there is a tripod that has very smooth adjustments and this would not be a problem. I don’t have that kind of tripod. It seems to be selling for cheaper now. I paid more for mine and at the price I paid it was a questionable value. However, at the new lower price, I think it is worth picking up.

The beam not as bright as I had hoped.but it works inside just fine… Thanks

Set up tolerance of +- 4-deg makes its use very limited.

While the laser is not mega bright if there is a lot of light around, it still works well. I used it to build and hang shelves in my garage. The self-leveling feature is great, and the clamp works well. Good buy for the price

I purchased this because I was planning on installing a laminate floor myself. It worked fantastic when cutting up the carpet, i was able to cut straight lines. It worked fantastic when I started laying the floor, nothing was crooked. I will use this for whatever I need, not just flooring. It is easy to use, even for an amateur like me.

Works as specified but no way that the laser is visible at 30 ft. unless your in total darkness.
