I purchased this laser around two or three years ago, and have not once been disappointed. I use it for tile work in bathrooms and showers, installing kitchen cabinets, and doing wainscoting. Very easy to use. Highly recommend this tool. It will make your job much easier and very precise.

The Bosch 65 ft. 360 Degree Horizontal Cross-Line Laser Level is a versatile, wel-designed tool which is useful for many applications, some of which would be difficult to achieve without it. The breakthrough technology is the 360-degree level line. With it you can ensure objects across a room are on the same level. It also has a horizontal line level mode and a vertical line level mode. Its automatic leveling function (which may be turned off if desired) is another amazing feature. The laser line is much stronger and easier to read than with my previous laser level. I have had no need to wear laser glasses. It has a magnetic arm which makes it easy to attach to a metal object to check for level. It also may be attached to a tripod for setting the height and for stabilizing the unit. It fits easily into my small hand, is lightweight, and comes with a carrying case that may be attached to one’s belt. I would have loved to have had this tool when I was installing electrical outlets in a new room. With this level, it would not have been necessary to measure every installation from the floor to get a uniform height. It is obvious useful for hanging pictures, drapery rods, or other wall hangings. I found it useful in for identifying the direction of the slope on a dehumidifier drain line. For more than a year, the drain line worked well. Then the unit’s bucket filled up and the unit turned off. With a conventional level, it still appeared that the drain line was flowing downward. With the laser level, it was apparent that the drain was level. Something had caused a change. After removing the strap holding up the pipe, the laser lever then confirmed that the slope was now downward. See photos. In the second case, we had suspected that the kitchen counter was sinking. The laser level output showed us that indeed the right corner was settling. See photo. This Bosch laser level is truly an outstanding tool. One area for improvement is the explanation of the tool’s warranty. The current warranty information is oblique. The box says “2 year warranty” in large letters. Then it goes on to say “Register your product to become eligible.” It then says “See owners manual for further details.” The difficulty for the consumer is that the details are in the box and there is no way to open the box without annihilating the packaging. The “Further details” say that the warranty is ONE year if you do not register but TWO years if you do. The registration process requests some personal information that seems irrelevant for registration. If one fails to provide the sensitive information, does that imply that the warranty will only be for one year? Why not keep it simple, e.g., on the box say “2 Year Warranty – registration or receipt needed for replacement or repair.” The registration form should also make clear what is required and what is optional.

This is the most awesome tool I’ve ever owned, I’m building a bathroom including a floor, building the floor is a breeze with this tool 360 degree line too go buy, I will also use this when I do the tile on the wall same bathroom. Its the best 250 have ever spent. I can also run diagnal tiles with this by turning off the automatic leveling function.

the only downside I’ve found is the more distant you are from the tool the fatter the line. I’ve tried the target plate provided and it doesn’t help my old man’s eyes. I’ve been using this for leveling first and second floors prior to remodeling. the tool has been a great addition to my leveling tools. just requires a bit of math and to remember whether to add or subtract from your baseline. is not very visible in bright lighting situations. I wouldn’t recommend for exterior project as sunlight overpowers it even in small distances. however as I’ve been using mostly inside and this issue is not necessarily present in a basement. first floor when sun is coming in the windows will erase your line unless you are able to interpose your body to cast a shadow without blocking the line. For the price-point it is a phenomenal investment for leveling interior spaces and installations within them.

When my 10 year old rotary laser level broke I purchased the Bosch GLL 2-20 and am very happy with it. The self-leveling feature works perfectly and removes the worry that the laser may have been knocked out of level which is something that could happen with my old one.Its small size, use of AA batteries and mounts that are included in carrying case make it easy to transport and use. My one complaint is that the laser isn’t as bright as I had hoped; I was using it to keep a chair rail level in a room with a lot of natural light and it was difficult to see.
