Only thing I don’t like is it doesn’t have a hard case. And the case doesn’t fit everything in it.

Purchased to replace aging RotoTools laser. Found the Gll3-300 to be good quality and the laser beam much improved since my last purchase. Pointed to the product by another industry professional. Would buy again.

The actual laser is great, does everything as advertised. I would recommend it to any serious contractor. The only thing negative about it is that the case is soft and small. It will not protect the laser against impact and it is too small to include the positioning stand. I end up with 2 different parts, one in a soft case and the other one loose, unprotected. I will have to buy a separate case for the kit.

Top quality 360 degree laser with superior micro adjust stand but beam fades quickly in outdoor situations. I test this Bosch GLL3-300 laser against the similarly priced Dewalt DW088LG cross laser (full video review below) and found the both lasers worked well in interior situations. But the green beam of the Dewalt proved superior in sharpness, brightness and visibility in outdoor tests over the Bosch.Pros:• Micro Adjust Stand makes this kit. Included stand allow you to position the projected beam perfectly, which is key to make a laser useful. • 360 Beam is handy in many situations. Having the beam projected on all sides makes large leveling tasks easier. • Bright red beam works well. In comparison to my 10 year old Stanley Fat Max laser these modern lasers have improved vastly, resulting in sharper, brighter, more accurate projections.Cons:• Interior use. The Bosch was poor in outdoor conditions, beam is hard to see past 5 feet. • Soft storage case. I preferred a hard carrying case to protect these delicate instruments. None of the Bosch accessories will fit into the supplied case.• Rechargeable Batteries are better. While I found good life with Bosch AA batteries, I think Dewalt’s Lithium Ion rechargeable batteries a better solution. About my rating:5 stars – Exceeds all expectations. Better than the competition in all aspects, design, cost, operation, and support (A+). 4 stars – Nicely done. Better than the competition and solves the problem. (B)3 stars – Works as expected. Has some shortcomings but gets the job done. Might be short in design, cost, longevity, or support. (C).2 stars – Falls short of expectations and needs improvement. Pass and look elsewhere. (D)1 star – Fails miserably. Does not get the job done, might even make things worse. Someone at the company should be fired. (F)

THE GOOD: Let me say from the outset that this is a five star tool in quality and performance. The detail and care put into this device shows the fine engineering that Bosch is known for. I have other, cheaper laser levels bought over the years for projects, but although they did the job, in comparison they are toys. The beams coming from this device are sharp, clear and thin, even at a respectable distance. Being able to select from horizontal, to vertical, to plumb (above & below) with just a touch of the button is a real time saver. No need to re-orient or change positions. If you are holding a working point, you can make any measurement you want in any direction. It shows up extremely well in any indoor condition and does quite well in sunlight. If you are a contractor, I would suggest either upgrading to the kit with the LR2 Reciever, or choosing the model with a more eye friendly green light output. That said, for any interior work, the red output will be more than adequate.I was pleasantly surprised that the device came with both 1/4″ camera mounting holes as well as the standard 5/8″ tripod thread. I’m a Land Surveyor by trade and this will fit on any tripod made for a cheap transit to one for a total station theodolite.THE BAD: There seems to be no end of videos on the various laser models that Bosch sells. ALL of them are short sales promos. I was a bit confused as to all the features of the BM1 mounting bracket. I finally found a revue in Russian w/subtittles that gave me more information that anything Bosch had posted. The manual shows the device with all the included and optional accessories, but plugging those items into a search on Bosch’s web site was barely fruitful. Overall, I was dissappointed in the lack of support and the difficulty of navigating the company website.THE UGLY: I was excited with anticipation on receiving the product. As I mentioned above, you would be hard pressed to find a better quality instrument at that price point. One feature that got my notice was the inclusion of a hard case. I own a LOT of tools (too many?) and often a deciding factor is whether or not the tool comes with a storage case. I like to keep my tools in good shape and having a case to store them in goes a long way in making them last for years. Imagine my disappointment when my GLL3-300 came in a box with only a storage pouch for the actual laser. What was I supposed to do with all the accessories? just dump them in a bucket? The retail box obviously was not designed to include a hard case. I started searching this model from various dealers and they ALL stated that it came with a hard carry case. The final straw was going to the Bosch page and seeing once again, that a hard case was included. I do note that the GL3-300 is a newer, upgraded model and perhaps the marketing copy has just not been edited. However, for a tool that carries a MSRP of close to six bills, I find scrimping in this manner inexcusable. UPDATE:I did contact Bosch concerning the case. It went through two levels with a response that they will send a case once it’s off backorder. 4 weeks later it just appeared on my doorstep. I was happy until I opened the case and saw there was no insert to hold the tool and accessories. So I’m just a little better off than storing it in a bucket. I can’t belive that the same company that produces such a quality product is lacking in service.

Great laser level, perfect for do it yourself. 3 axis are amazing features to ensure all your project are straight. It has fine adjustment in vertical direction, which is very helpful, I just wish that it has the same for horizontal. Other than that great for indoor use.

Our work is done inside and needs to be precise over long distances. We count on the GLL3-300 for easy to read, precise measurements. We have not been disappointed so far. It’s a spendy machine, and the price requires that we pay attention to who uses it. (No noobs, because gravity)

Works great! Battery life isn’t what I expected, but batteries are a cheap fix for something so helpful.

This works great indoors I have not had to use it outside. The only thing I wish it had in the housing somewhere is a bubble level to get it close to level quickly. But that could be overcome with a tripod that has a bubble in it or by drop a small bubble level on top and using that to level it quickly (it will only tolerate +/- 4% out of level and will warn you audibly if it is out of that auto adjust range

I bought this laser 3 weeks ago, and after using it for a feew hours, (around 2) the batteries ran out and I thought it was because the batteries were the original ones from Bosch. I replaced the batteries with new ones, but it keeps turning off after an hour of use it , when I try to turn it on, the laser starts to self-level and turns off. I wonder my laser is defected. Because and use 3 set of batteries for a single job?

This is an amazing tool to have. The biggest problem I had was that it did not come with the case. I returned it and went and bought it at a tool supplier that sold it with the case. It only cost five dollars more.
