Works well I used outdoors in overcast skies. While lines were faint. They were visible and I was able to complete my task

This is my second generation laser level. Like so many others, my first one had a single red beam that was limited and was not self leveling like this gem. I was anxious to see if my back pack tripod would work with this unit so I tested it in my basement (see photo) with great results. Next, I tried the mounting device clamp which is very flexible and has rubber pads in order to protect the clamping surface. The last image was to create a level datum for a drop ceiling project. The hallway was fairly dark and the sun was bright coming through the door window but you could still see the green laser beam on the door and the concrete block.

This is a fine addition to the Bosch line of tools! I used this 40 FT. SELF LEVELING CROSS LINE LASER WITH VISIMAX GREEN BEAM on a brick wall I was repairing, and it made the job so much easier than having a string in the way! The picture doesn’t show the clarity of the lines, but they are very easy to see! My next project using this tool, is going to be re-tiling my shower! I highly recommend this tool!

I needed to get a new laser level for many reasons and the Bosch green laser was a nice fit. After having dropped my first laser level from the roof edge line putting my gutter downspout up in the lowest point along the long run of gutter behind the garage within a moderate slope to help the rain water flow to the downspout. And then having to use a string line level to finish that job it was time for a new laser level. I was intrigued when I saw the green light laser coming from the this level self leveled, I was amazed. The self leveling is a time saving feature along with the included belt bag and clip to mount it to odd surfaces. The first project that I will use this product is installing a drain line from the patio slab to the fence line. Then I will extend the patio with 12 inch concrete pavers along the rear of the house and the back of the garage also. I can state that the Bosch green laser level already has help measure and shoot a level line in both of these my project and I am sure that it will be of the same help to you.

Good laser level. Can’t see the line very well past 14 foot

While it does put a level cross on the wall, if you need to adjust to any other angle it flashes every second to let you know its not level, and is impossible to use.

I’ve used a single line laser before. This was my first experience with one with a cross-beam. It comes with a nice case that closes with velcro and a velcro strap on the back for attaching it to a belt or shoulder strap. The self-leveling pendulum locks when it is turned off. If it is more than 4 degrees off level the laser light blinks. There is no feedback system to show which direction it is off level. A simple old fashioned bubble attached to the top would be helpful. Because it has to be level to function properly it can’t be put at a comfortable height and angled up to project a line higher up on the wall. If you want to establish a line 8 ft. high on the wall, the laser unit must be mounted 8 feet above the floor. I found this tool hard to work with. There is a swiveling clamp it can be screwed to or it can be screwed to a tripod with by a 1/4-20 insert attached to the bottom. The clamp must be screwed down extremely tight to begin to be effective and it is still able to be moved with only moderate force. The green light is easier to see than the red lasers I’ve used in the past. Perhaps this tool is beyond my talents but I would look for another model for my go-to laser level.

Worked as advertised and I was able to hang window cornices in a short amount of time. What a time saver. Wished I had bought one of these sooner. Great for the price as well. I bought the BT150 tripod for it and it worked like a champ.

Easy to set up, easier to see than the red one we had. Look forward to using it regularly for our installs.

Great little tool to have in your tool box. It has so many uses I can’t even begin to cover them all. The green cross lines show up very well even in daylight lit rooms. The laser lines are very well defined, clear and easily visible on any background and are good for up to 40 feet away however the further away you get from your target, the wider the lines get. A good sturdy tripod with a crank up height adjustment makes this tool even more versatile. It’s compact, it gives off a highly visible set of cross lines and it’s very robustly built.

40 ft. Self Leveling Cross Line Laser with VisiMax Green Beamby BoschPackaging: Cardboard display boxContents: Laser, mounting device, AA alkaline batteries, stowage bag and instructionsFirst Impressions: Nice and compactDescription: This is a two direction line laser. It creates two green lines which cross at the mid point. The mounting device will clamp onto the edge of various surfaces and objects, and the laser device screws onto it.There is a slightly padded nylon bag to store the laser, but not the mounting device.Usage: The battery cover required a screw driver to pry it open while depressing the latch release. It is unlikely that it would ever pop open on its own. The batteries were easy to install after that. It used two AA batteries. Any battery types can be used in the device as long as the chemistries match. Also note that any rechargeable batteries must be removed for charging as there is no built in charging function. The laser screws into the mounting/clamping device with no trouble and was then able to be clamped just about anywhere that would fit within the jaws of the clamp. The opposite end of the clamp has two swivel joints and a tightening wheel to make the swivels more or less movable. One can therefore position the laser in any plane. The wheel/knobs were of fair size to get the job done, even with gloves on.I like that the light was bright and easy to see. I didn’t see the need for the optional glasses. However, there was a problem with using it in a living room in that the line did not reach all the way across the opposite wall. It is bright in the middle, but fades out rapidly at the outer ends.Keep in mind that this is not just a leveling device. This is a device to show a straight line on a surface while also displaying another line at 90 degrees to the first one. For instance, one can find an angle and then display that angle on a large area. The basic idea appears to be that if you are positioning the laser in any angle of 5 or more degrees from horizontal, then the laser stays lit and displays the crossed lines at that angle with trying to self-level.Of course, if one places the device on any surface within 4 degrees of horizontal, it will self-level automatically and display a perfect vertical and horizontal line set. However, it will not work when pointed upward at the ceiling.I would have liked a carry bag that also held the mounting clamp. I see this as an unfortunate oversight. The laser is rated at good to 40 feet. It is surprisingly small for what it does, and that shows the expertise needed to create such a small package. It is not an inexpensive or cheap device, so it costs a little more than one might expect. By the same token, the user should not handle it roughly.Bosch will give the buyer a two year warranty if it is registered within 8 weeks of purchase.Overall Thoughts:This is a very compact and useful tool.
