So far so good. Using for tile work then moving on to doors.

This is one great laser level! This Bosch 40-ft Self-Leveling Cross Line Laser with Visimax Green Beam is the best laser level I’ve ever used. The green beam is super bright and easy to see (compared to the weak red beam of my old laser level.) The self-leveling feature works as soon as you get the laser head roughly level on a tripod or the included clamp mount. I used my camera tripod screw mount that fit the standard 1/4-20 female thread in the bottom of the laser head, but the clamp mount would work equally well on almost any board or edge that’s the thckness of a 2×4 or less. As with all laser devices, you should never look directly at the laser beam outlet. This laser level worked extremely well for giving me an absolute level line to use when I was installing a shiplap feature wall in our master bedroom. The laser head is somewhat delicate, so you need to be careful not to drop it. The kit includes a nice little padded pouch to protect the laser head when it’s not in use. It uses just two 1.5 Volt AA Alkaline Batteries that last a long time. I’m sure I’ll find lots of other uses for this little gem.

This Bosch laser level provides a distinct and very visible green line in both horizontal and level orientations and a vertical plumb line. It is self leveling once it is held stable with the adjustable clamp or placed on a tripod. It is intended for indoor use only and the laser line is not very visible in the outdoors. The unit includes a tripod mounting, which is a threaded insert similar to what is on the base of a camera. Also included is a padded case that holds the unit. The case is made of a sturdy and strong plastic and should be kept in the case to prevent damage when not in use.

This unique self leveling device accomplished exactly what I needed for my tile laying project. The device gave me the true color laser vertical and horizontal lines that aided me on the alignment of the tiles that I installed. It was a real time saver for my project. This is a great tool to have.

Purchased this yesterday to use outdoors “for a short distance of less then 10 feet”. I have a red laser by Skil, SKIL 8201-CL, that I used to compare it too. This red laser is 5 years old and I paid less then half the cost of this Bosch (caught it on sale), but it is at least twice as bright and readable in bright sun up to 6 feet away, whereas this Bosch green is not. (Both lasers are made by Bosch and Bosch is an excellent tool company). Bottom line; there are brighter lasers I believe for less money so wouldn’t expect much out of this one. I’m a little disappointed in Bosch because they build really good stuff. To me this laser works but is not worth the cost they are asking. And yes, I know it is meant for indoors but that doesn’t change the fact that this light is not as bright as expected for the money paid.
