I’m a Crime Scene Investigator. The use a laser measuring device is invaluable. I’ve used it at three separate scenes and it has saved me a lot of time compared to using a tape measure which always takes an extra person. Great product.

This is my second Bosch dlm. Had to replace the last one after 5/6 years as it walked off site. The updates are great. Love the connectivity to app. Only complaint is that the flip out foot (that I used a lot for trim) snapped off in the first month when it got stuck closed. Have to get better at working to 1/32”. Might be better at 1/16”Overall a major time saver

This unit is loaded with many features and is very accurate. Tool will measure distance, area, volume, and angles. It can communicate through Bluetooth technology or USB

I found the process of process of measurements to iPhone and then to excel on a PC to be overly complex. I measure boats and the angle distance feature is a game changer. Anyone who has to measure curves will love it. In my day job, I’m an Architect, I measure complex spaces with it.

Accuracy and variety of features on this laser distance measurement unit is unbelievable. The only downside to me is the location of the holding strap. It could be placed in a better location not to interfere with the measurements done when the unit is on its side.

This thing works great! Very handy measuring on the building site and would definitely recommend it.

I have only had a week or so to test this thing out and there are noticeable changes that could be made to the unit to make the process quicker and more user friendly. To start with the device itself without the app, it is a great laser measuring device with very tight tolerance. If you want to use it just for that it should serve its purpose well but there are cheaper ones available if you chose not to have any app based ad-ons. Now for the the whole Bluetooth paired device deal…it becomes paired once you fumble through the app and hit the bluetooth button on the device however, once it powers down you have to pair it again and again and again which takes too much time when you are in to measure a job quickly and generate higher profit margins. It is an absolutely awesome concept and I have used it with my iPhone5 and it works as it should but to add dims on such a small screen is kind of not worth the time if you do not carry a fine point stylus because your finger tip blocks view of where a dimension arrow is placed and with quick work this takes up too much time. If you carry a large tablet like an iPad it would work much better but due to conditions, you may not want to break up your personal iPad device in the field given that they are expensive once you get them protected and filled with apps and such. To those getting into the thought of using this device, you should spend a considerable amount of time playing with every function in order to become greatly proficient with the device and the app. I certainly will use it where I have room in the budget on a tough, intricate project but will stick with simplicity on the smaller boxes where a hand drawn sketch will always be much faster. Give it a whirl if you like to be the most advanced person in the office. As I said, it is an awesome concept and will certainly help on largescale, intricate projects or specific items within a project that you want to transport or relay back to the office from your handheld device to an employee at the ready to take info in and modify, resolve any issues apparent in a photograph with dimensions from the device. Once I get more time with this device, I will try and follow-up with a more detailed review…a week is just not enough to go through this whole device and all of its functions. It seems it would be great for estimating but I just have not reached that point of comfort with it yet. The bluetooth pairing everytime it powers off is a bit of pain since most all devices once they are paired will pair automatically when turned on…this is certainly something for Bosch to improve. There are a few coworkers in our firm that lost interest within a minute of playing with the app so I am honestly on the fence about recommending this product but I will to those savvy enough to want to take the time to learn it.

It is very well done little unit. Works great and I do appreciate any time I am using it. What I do not appreciate is the fact that unit is well over priced comparing to other Bosch units. Having Bluetooth is not a feature nowadays any more and it should not be excuse for high price. Next thing that I find a bit disturbing is that drafting application that is suppose to work along with this unit is not communicating properly and us giving me wrong floor plan. I was told it is because I use Apple platform and Bosch has not develop it quite perfectly. So price at the side I forgot it already but I need new better Floor plan application that would work nicely with my unit. After that it will be 5 star product for me. You may have my recommendation for this unit.

So far, the projects I’ve used the Bosch Bluetooth Enabled 330 ft. Lithium-Ion Laser Distance and Angle Measure for have been relatively small (in the 30-ft range, so nowhere near the 330 feet it can apparently handle), but it has given me accurate results (measuring from the back of the unit) as compared with the same measurements taken with a traditional tape measure.Small and lightweight with a rechargeable battery and carrying case, the laser measure is easy to take with you without taking up a whole lot of space. Some of the many additional features it offers that I have not had reason to try yet include angle measurements and using the iPhone app and Bluetooth connectivity to document measurements on the go. In all honesty, while I’m sure that the smartphone app connection would be incredibly handy for contractors, inspectors, and DIYers who need to take many measurements while flying solo, it seems somewhat overkill for just taking basic measurements of a room.Given the wide variety of measurements and tasks the laser measure can handle, I highly recommend this product for professionals who need accurate measurements with minimal hassle; however, given the price and the intensity of the instruction manual needed to learn this device, I would advise everyone else to stick with traditional tape measures or cheaper laser measures.

I just bought and although I have minimal experience, it has far been great. The iPhone app and bluetooth control make jobs so much easier to remember and track. Wish it “triggered” faster and laser was brighter and more powerful for those 300′ outdoor measurements.Overall this tool makes life easier.

Works great. Getting the proper software can be tricky. The house floorplan software only works with old version of android.

Just received the Bosch laser and although don’t have a project going on right now, I measured a couple of rooms and it’s super easy and dead on accurate. Still playing around with the Bluetooth but it seems pretty user friendly. As soon as the snow melts I am looking forward to trying it outside. A little pricy, but seems like a great piece of equipment!

I’m reviewing the Bosch GLM100C Laser Measurement Tool. This toy … uh, I mean tool … almost makes me want to crawl around dimly-lit, cold re-hab properties!Let me explain. As a principle in a Real Estate Development firm, I constantly find myself evaluating re-hab potential of properties we’ve recently acquired or considering acquiring.Armed with my Galaxy Tab and this device, it’s easy for me to record all the relevant information and relay that to my partners. [I especially like the fact that I don’t have to crawl on my belly as often under the house.]Now for the device itself, sweet. Compact, lightweight, intuitive [except for the apps … where you’ll spend an evening or two getting a grip on]; smaller than a studfinder. The display is clear, sharp, and well backlit; the beam is clear and strong. Not sure about the case and lanyard. After two weeks, I’m probably 25% up the learning curve. The accuracy? Well definitely good enough to make the first cut on a piece of crown molding or cut lengths of Cat 6 wire or determine the numbers of pavers you’ll need for a driveway within 2%; definitely good enough to work up BOMs without a lot of pain and aggravation; how about determining the length of double wall you’ll need to reline that chimney? If I can find a way to measure the height of trees [I don’t think it’s capable of echoing off it], I’d come back and give it 6 Stars! The manual is 40 pages [only 14 of which describe its operation and use] and there are errors in referring you to the wrong pages. But I can brush that off.

I use one for quick estimates and material lists for trim and flooring. I love the fact that I can make several measurements and keep a list or even more. Makes the paperwork easier and I can start making cuts faster. A must have for crown work! Just climb the ladder, push a button and hit the saw. No need to fight with a 24 ft. tape or taking notes!

I had one of the Bosch 80m units and bought the GLM100 for the built in angle measurement, Bluetooth integration and matching App’s. It is much more accurate and useable for indirect measurements with the built in angle sensor. The display is vey easy to understand and when connected to a tablet or phone with the matching App it saves me a lot of time and enters all the measurements accurately without mistakes. The rechargeable battery life is much better than I anticipated and lasts for weeks of occasional use. I would recommend getting the matching red glasses and tripod for use during the day as the spot can be difficult to see past 30m in sunlight. It is also useful to fit a lanyard to hold it more securely.

OK indoors but impossible to use in bright sun. Hard to use at distances over 80 feet even using a tripod. If measuring distances outdoors greater than 50 feet try an ldm with a focusing device attached.

it not only measures accurately within 1/32 of inch, but connects with project stored on phone or IPad with picture. Makes my measuring time faster and much more precise.

The hardware does what it says it will do, and it does it well. My only comment which puts a speed bump in the process with the software is exporting the project information. With the GLM100 and iPad, I can take pictures, measure distances, angles, etc and make record once on location. I can take all of the information and should be able to “export” it all but is limited to being sent via email. For larger projects, it is too much to send via email. I checked with their support and they agreed that was the issue. I recommended being able to export to Google Drive or Dropbox would solve that issue (and make it easier for my work flow.) With all that being said, it is a great product as you would expect from Bosch.

I was hoping to generate floor plans easily with this tool. It has more features than my last Bosch laser tool but it was the floor plan option that was interesting to me. I can’t get the blue tooth to work at all and the floor plan software appears to be only for Apple devices. Bit disappointed…

All precision devices should be able to trigger hands off. Bluetooth is also a great idea for transfering results to the phone or laptop.
