I always wanted one of these. The laser beam is bright worked well inside measuring my living room. Wanted to use outside from house to garage, the sun was very bright at midday, could see the beam on garage but was trying to hit a small spot about 4 inches wide. I was shaking to much but was able to get a reading. Tried when the sun was clouded over, had no problem then even shaking. Haven’t tried all features yet, very happy with the Bosch laser measurer.

I’ve been a fan of Bosch measuring lasers for years. I’ve used them to do “as-builts” of existing buildings so that we can draw them in CAD. I’ve used them from small homes to old warehouses. They’re good for measuring rooms to ceiling heights. I bought this one unit because my last one finally died after 5 years being dropped several times and being left in a hot car. This unit was ok compared to my last one. It was smaller, back-lit when you were in the dark, longer measure distance (165ft), you can see up to three measurements on the screen and the price was reasonable for all these extra functions. The down side, I would get a more “error” messages when measuring, the fractions of an inch numerals were too small and too close to the edge of the screen to see, it only has 2 triple A batteries that would die quickly with the back lit screen, and the response was slow when you pushed the measure button compared to my old one. Unfortunately, I only owned this product for 6 months until I dropped it last week and it would only measure up to 6 feet.
